I checked the part number at an online Jeep dealer and it shows it fits a 2.5 1984-1990. What has alwas thrown me off though is that if you search for an early 2.5 coolant bottle there is always a picture of the 4.0 bottle that sits up on the passenger fire wall. Thanks again everyone. :wrench:

I am running a cone filter. So is that maybe a 1984? Man I want one of those now!!!!!! What do you think the chance of finding a part number would be?? :typing:

Thats it!!!!!!! Thanks, any idea what year that is? I like the looks of that overflow tank.

I saw a picture on this sight a few weeks ago of a Comanche enjine bay and it had a stock oem recovery bottle in between the fender and the stock air cleaner assembly. Any body know what year and engine size it was? The picture was from a truck some one found at a junk yard. That person also asked if any one wanted him to pull parts from it for them. Wish I would have saved it.

I have the same radiator in my truck. Happy so far. can't remember where it was made though. I seem to remember that it wasnt USA :USAflag: Sure is hard to find anything made in this country anymore. :USAflag: I'm going to try and find that picture with the oem overflow. I have seen the one that Eagle has and not any better quality than ours. This is the water pump I went with http://www.cardone.com/English/Club/Pro ... 0Flyer.pdf Seemed like it was built a little better than the others. The Flow Cooler and Hesco just looked like "snake oil" to me and expensive.

Hi Chico, Hey if you ever find a better overflow let us know. I'm not to fond of China stuff either. I think I saw a photo of a 2.5 enjine bay on this site somewhere and it had a bottle that looked like it would work. If I could find an OEM bottle that would work I think that would be great.

One more thing to add is if you have a high concentration of antifreeze that will make your engine run hotter. This is a case where more is not better.

Changing the serpentine belt. Any advice?
PIKE replied to Luvtohunt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For years I did that too. But I was always worried that I would have the belt too tight and ruin a bearnig, so I would have it too loose and I would get a squeel. It takes all the guess work out of it for me, and its very easy to use. Dave -

One of these works pretty well too. http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/N ... sion+Gauge Used belt is 140-160 lbs-f New belt is 180-200 lbs-f  -
Hi Rich, I too have a 89 Comanche. Had the overheating problems too. I also did the same thing with the hose clamp on the bottle cap. After two new plastic bottles I searched for something better and found this. http://www.macsradiator.com/replacmentj ... tanks.aspx I don't know if it will solve your problem, but at least you will know its not the bottle. Plus this tank will allow you to convert to an open system if you want to. Good luck  Dave

http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/parts/ ... /1763.html I had to cut all my hoses off. You can use stock hoses with the Macs tank. Some expansion bottles have the hose connect at the top but route the fluid down to the bottom inside the bottle. If you don't draw from the bottom of the bottle your system won't be able to draw fluid back to the radiator when it cools down. Dave

YES. The tank is a direct replacement for the stock unit. So there is no extra hardware to buy. I will post some pictures soon. Dave

I have been running this system for a couple of years now, and feel that I have finally solved all my problems associated with the plastic bottle and cap. It allows you to convert your closed system to an open one. Thats why you also want to add the resevoir bottle. Make sure your resevoir bottle fills from the bottom so it acts as an expansion bottle and not an overflow catch bottle. The tank mounts exactlly as the stock unit, and all hose connections are the same also, with an added fitting for the expansion bottle. And it uses a standard radiator cap. Dave
