  1. It doesn't look like they have them anymore, bummer. http://www.parts.com/jeep/1991-jeep-com ... -parts.cfm It shows they have them but add it to your cart and it says part not found... You sure you don't want to get rid of that one! Just kidding, I wouldn't If I had them. Anybody else have a possible source?
  2. here is the cheapest place I have found: http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/cherokee.html They are cherokee but if you get the ones for 2 door then you should have plenty of length to modify. I was thinking I wouldn't find cab corners. The only comanche in a junk yard nearby is in terrible shape. Anybody know off the top of their head if any vehicles which have them available are close enough that they could be made to work? Basically something with almost the same radius curve?
  3. Does anybody make replacement rear cab corner body panels? I have a source for rocker panels. Thanks, Andrew
  4. Got mine at the farm supply store, thay will always have em, too many ol' farm trucks around to not carry it
  5. A wrap around corner window would be cool, it would be hard to do though since the trucks that had them were from the 50's and they had a larger radius curve... Maybe find someone to make the glass custom. That is what I would like to do to mine anyways, will probably never happen though.
  6. Not necessarily on the leaf springs either, mine is a 91, the original owner told me that they were the original springs and axle. It has 5 leaf and D35. :dunno: When I first saw it I jumped for joy, then it quickly faded. Oh and it has no lift or added springs.
  7. Wouldn't shimming it be harder on the front axle for a daily driver? I am considering it now.
  8. Well shows how much I remember about it. Is the Posi-Lok a worthwhile addition, granted $220 is a lot more than the vacuum hose, assuming that is my only problem, but it could be like the axle shift motor or the switch on the t-case right? thanks
  9. Yeah I tried that earlier on dry pavement real quick and sometimes I could definitely feel it and others it definitely wasn't there... That is when I got concerned. I didn't think the wrangler had command track? I could have sworn the axels looked different too, but then it has been probably two years since I have looked at it. Right now it is parked awaiting funds to get it going again. Edit: I don't really care about the light, at first I thought it ws a short, but now I am positive that tthe front axel isn't always engaged because I was all over the road in this ice sometimes and then others in perfect controll, if this ice wasn't here I would crawl under therre and see what t-case I got. 231 sounds familiar was that an option?
  10. I got a few questions on the 4x4. So when I put it in four high are the hubs suppose to be locked all the time or only when there is slipping? The light says part time and it comes on and off when in four high. A bit confused because sometimes when it is four high the hubs don't seem locked, and the light is off. Half the time this happens driving would have been better if they were locked... This setup doesn't seem the same as my yj. Any insight, is this normal and something that is different about the "part time" compared to the wrangler, something I just have to get use to. Or are my hubs going bad, or vacuum, I think they lock by vacuum? Thanks, Andrew
  11. Where can I buy the cardboard backing? Found suppliers for fabric but they don't sell the cardboard... I guesss you are already suppose to have it. Called the local upholstery shop but they didn't do automotive. So figured go to a junk yard to pull one from a full size truck so I would have enough to trim and form it... but it was plastic, plastic seems much harder to form on my own, but maybe not. Any thoughts, yeah I know about the ones on ebay but I want to do my own design, and $135 seems a bit high. Maybe I should just post in the classifieds for one then recover it...
  12. It is possible to make it work, by using electricity it probably aids in the efficency of one sacrificial anode to work for the whole vehicle. I am a metallurgist but I don't know any elctrical stuff, you would need someone that knows both to see if the electricity helps... Sacrificial anodes have been used in vehicles, what do you think galvanizing is. and we have all seen how galvanic cell corosion works, ever seen a steel pipe conected to a brass valve or fitting? The steel corodes very quickly if it is exposed to water or something and the fitting will just fall right off in perfect shape... Yeah, and I think some one also mentioned it is used on underground pipes, they use magnesium primarily for that...
  13. Yeah I had trouble putting a staock radio back in to and can't remember how I wired it. I finally got it lit up and all... Anyho I found a way to make it work with one exception, the radio will turn on when the ignition is off but the lighs have to be on for this to happen, the radio runs fine without the lights on and the ignition on, play around with the wirring, i think I tied two wires together...
  14. Yeah what I found was just some crappy temporary universal ones not even slide on
  15. They made factory towing mirrors? Does anybody have photos of these and some specs (how long). Was wanting more of a bolt on one, I am not fond of the slip on.
  16. anybody? Going to be going to the junk yard this weekend, they have a 92 cherokee with cruise and just want to make sure it will fit the 91 and that I get all the parts I need
  17. Does anybody know of some good towing mirrors that fit in with little modification, preferably a direct fit but ebay returned no results.
  18. I thought I would just add my question on here instead of a new thread. I don't know much about how cruise control works, what parts do I need to add cruise on to my 91 comanche 4.0 manual or would it just be easier to purchase an after market kit?
  19. no it wasn't thick and the oil pressure is fine. the valve cover and gasket were replaced just prior to my purchase, could it have been an additive to check for oil leaks? I thought those usually just required a uv light to see the color though?
  20. I just bought this 91 comanche with 4.0L engine and when I changed the oil it had a greenish tint. I can't imagine what would cause this, coolant doesn't mix with oil... Does anybody have any thoughts on what would cause this?
