  1. [hijack] build thread? [/hijack] Don't have one, but they are DIRT SIMPLE to put in. All you need is the console, and the ambient temp sensor behind the grill. As far as wiring goes, IIRC, its just power, ground, ignition, illumination, and the wires from the temp sensor. Rob Yup, the older ones don't have all the cool functions like the gas mileage and odometer, so they are very simple to add in.

  3. Yup, they are a good source for stuff like this. Need to order a couple of other things (wireless router high gain antennas) so I will toss a couple of these things in with that order.
  4. Seriously, 3? I got three Jeeps... Came out to $8.69 total shipped to my door. Where did you order them from?

I already seen the photos, he dead.
  6. That fender support is a little rough looking where the fender attaches, looks like the whole outer edge is bent 90* inward. Also you will need to remove the 96- style of fender bracket and use a 97+ one to attach the fender.

  8. Yup, but for some of us we might need bifocals to see that smaller display though.
  9. A voltage regulator is like $1.90 at any radio shack. Problem solved.

Donald Trump: I got his birth certificate. President Obama: I got Bin Laden.
  11. Seriously, 3?
  12. This guy found a unit that looks pretty stock: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=462369 Gonna add that to my list.
  13. Pretty sure its 1/8" NPT.
  14. And they are both seperated by 7 years of production, including a major design overhaul with a switch from OBDI to OBDII. Heck just the difference with the 97 and 98 for the TCU is a big enough problem let alone a 91, I'm just saying, I suspect he will need to run the 98 tranny with its TCU(and related wiring, so he should be sure to grab all that from the donor).
  15. You will need to use the 91 speed sensor in the 97+ transfer case. The AW4 wiring will be a little funky, you will need the TCU and plug from the donor XJ, and you will need the tranny harness and plugs from the donor XJ. You will need to do a little wiring work to get everything to work out, and you may need to tie into the CCD bus for the TCU, but it "should" be able to run standalone since thats what the TJ/ZJ guys do when they swap in an AW4.

check the axle... You mean the Dana 30 or the 44? I stand by my statement of more show than go. Diamond plate on the bottom side of the frame Xmember: XJ tails:

A bit more show than go on that truck. But it seems well executed and through.
  19. Yup, seen things like that before. Good execution on his part with the plastic. better than the tarps and newspaper you typically see. I would just like to point out that water is very heavy and even under static load can damage suspension on a truck like that.
  20. Yah. Its stuff like this that makes life a little more stressful. It happens to all of us and we all need to vent at some point. All I can say is I try to make life as easy and possible, and avoid situations that make me groan like what happened to you. Still, it always happens. Golden rule man, if we all followed it life would be a little bit better for everyone.
  21. They're not just for the Waggies. My 1987 Comanche Pioneer came stock with the 10 spokes. yep i do know that..I just like the name waggy more then turbine :shake: Ya, but its also kind of like saying you like the name BeepBeepItsaJeep better than a Jeep. Chances are if you said that in public not only would you look like a dumba$$ but you would get some weird looks.
  22. Ya those are usually called turbines or 10 spokes.
  23. So updates people?
  24. What happened to the power mirrors on it?
