 I like the sound of that. To bad Diesel is $4+ per gallon :hmm: and gas is 3.09 Ya, and when diesel costs 15% more per gallon and nets you 30% better fuel economy it still nets you a 15% increase in fuel economy. So you could be paying $10 a gallon for gas and $11.50 for diesel and the diesel will still be cheaper to run....... Gas cheaper = buy it more often. Diesel more expensive = buy it less often.

WK diesel, just as much torque as a hemi, better mileage.

Troy thats the first time I've ever noticing you post here. -

I've had goats before, and the billy's can be very mean, definitely don't want to have them around. Those suckers will ram into ya outta spite.

5.2 may be on the right but I KNOW the 4.7 is on the left and I'm pretty sure the newer 5.7 is on the left as well.

IIRC the bolt pattern is the same, but the starter is on the other side of the bellhousing, so while they will bolt together they will not bolt together with the starter. at least thats my understanding of it. TCU is easy to wire up as a standalone for the AW4.

I'd recommend buying your own modem and router if they are trying to charge monthly for them. Linksys doesn't appear to make a modem anymore but here is one I have had in the past that is relatively cheap and worked fine for me: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6825122011 And I would also recommend you buy your own router if they are trying to charge, I would recommend the WRT54GL as you can load dd-wrt or any other open source firmware on it which allows you to do other things, like upping the antenna transmit power and such. Plus the WRT54GL is just a rock solid router thats been around for a long time and it just works(kinda like our 4Ls). The downside is that its not 802.11n, but it sounds like thats not going to make a difference to you anyways. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... pk=wrt54gl

Ya if your into the territory of being able to break a 242 you ought to upgrade to something past a 231 anyways. The great thing about the 242 is that its like a 231, but better, because you get the AWD option if you really want it. Like I said, back in 2005 or so the 242 didn't get much love, and it seems like these days people are liking it much more.
-
Most of them are 247s, some of them came with the 242s, but those are more rare. Personally I prefer the 242 over the 247, after driving around with this 247 for just a short while I am set on that. A good number of WJ guys swap to the 242 when they can. It's interesting, 5 years ago the 242 didn't get much love, but in the past few years many more people are starting to like the 242 over the 231(in the XJ world at least). Interesting how preferences change.

No but I could use those nice new clean titles that went with those vehicles for some KK's I've had in mind...........

Oh and pete, thanks for getting rid of the image size checker, posted the first time flawlessly!

Got my plates and title today, theres another $150 down, yesterday I vacuumed it out, its actually pretty clean on the inside now without a bit of dog hair and such in the interior, I still need to find a rear cargo area tire cover, thats gonna be fun, its about the first thing to go at the junkyard because people take them to lay on when working under a vehicle, out of all the WJs I checked I only found two, one was the wrong color and the other was the right color but had been beat all to hell, looks like someone dropped a tranny on it and then spilled fluid all over it, I wasn't sure it was even worth messing with. I also managed to start messing around with buffing down the headlights, its gonna take a lot of sanding to get through the pitting, but I ought to be able to get them down to looking pretty good, not as good as new mind you, but at ~$130 for a pair of new headlights this will be cheaper and still look pretty good. The chrome grill is pretty beat so I'm gonna replace it with a new one. Otherwise there are lots of fine scratches all over it, I'm gonna go around and buff them down with a glaze, ought to sharpen it up quite a bit. Haven't messed around with seeing if I can improve the dents, overall they really aren't that bad, the hood is the worst of it.

Ya the 4L is a known in an XJ, but give it all the extra weight of a WJ to move around and you stress that poor thing everyday. I'm really starting to come around to the notion that the 4.7 is a better match for the WJ's weight.

With that mileage? I don't disbelieve you, I'm just curious. I'm looking for a WJ with a 4.0 for the next DD. Yes, here are several comparables on CL right now: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2664763078.html http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2676959517.html http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2655014013.html http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2666559989.html http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2612720418.html http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2698826865.html I dunno about the 4L anymore, after driving the 4.7 and seeing what the thing can do for mileage I think the 4.7 is a good option. All the WJ guys seem to say the same thing, the only difference between the 4.7 and the 4L is the power, gas mileage is the same. Now I'm not sure thats completely true around town but from what I saw of this WJ and my 4L WJ this one gets better mileage on the interstate. Plus its also decently peppy too.

What is otep anyway? The sticker was on the window when I bought it and I just never remembered to remove it.

3722 after taxes and fees, plus I got some more fees and such to pay before I even have the title in my name to transfer it to someone else.

26mpg on the way home:

Ya I looked into that and it seems fine, right now my best bet as to why its sitting higher on the left rear is that the impact pushed my left rear airshock up, and now its a little overfilled and doesn't want to settle back down. Cycling the pressure in my airshocks may let the vehicle even back out.

Also, my day just keeps getting better, this morning I needed to drive down to denver to pickup a Jeep I bought I monday, I got a friend to drive down with me so I could drive it back, then this happened: Guy on a HD trike rear ended me right after traffic came to a standstill on I25, I had been stopped a few seconds when I heard the rather ominous sound of a tire locking up, looked back in time to him clip my left rear and go flying. Guy went tumbling through the air are rolled on the ground before stopped a few feet in front of me on the median, his trike went tumbling along behind him and luckily stopped before it landed on him. At the time there was a CSP car parked on the passenger side just across from us on the passenger median, so there was a trooper there right away. I'm fine but my passenger now has whiplash, which developed pretty much as soon as we left the scene, so I'm not sure how that will all work out. I talked to the trooper who took my report a few hours later to get the info to me, I asked him how the trike guy was doing and he said he is alert and conscience and says he thinks he will be fine. So now my jeep is down for a bit, in addition to the cosmetic damage something is off in the rear and the drivers side is sitting up high, the unibody does not appear to be tweaked but for some reason its sitting up higher there. I also appear to have a bent axleshaft or wheel as I get some odd wobble/vibration and I believe I can see the rear wheel "wooblying" as I drive down the road. When it rains it pours(I have a metric butt-ton of other things going on and having my Jeep down is not convenient), and you guys may not care but Yellow Jeep Cherokee Freedoms don't exactly grow on trees, and there were only about 2200 Cherokee Freedoms produced in 2000, less than 500 of which where yellow, so its kinda a shame for me.

Ya, my 05KJ now has more miles on it than my 00 XJ.

Not just a $#!& ton of profit, but hopefully it doesn't need much work and I can have it up for sale and moved pretty quickly. BBV is about 6-7k

Get it home, make it look as good as possible, resell it.
