Lol no, but I am thinking that I might now, I would need like 3 sets plus alot of labor to make them work on the MJ. Plus another set of rear flares. -

Snapped some pics under the MJ today: Ew, 2wd, gross! Some light surface rust on stuff, but nothing structural or cancerous. Might try to get it sand blasted instead of wire-brush-drilled. The one part of the body where I will need to do bodywork: Testing out the 2500 flares, they basically take up the same amount of fender space that the 97+ flares do, but have a somewhat different "squared off" shape to them. We will not be able to use the 97+ flare tie downs without modification: -

For the 96- tail lights, no, 97+, yes. -
Can you say lag queen? How about dyno queen? Thing is, I would rather have a car with 400rwhp and about zero turbo lag, get alot more use out of it.
-
Ha! Came across my own pictures! So, somebody beat me to the tail light conversion... WTF... Well, I do have one more trick up my sleeve to make it even better than that MJ! Did you find 97+ Euro lights? Hehehe, I will be going with Euro lights.

Yes, the black convertible is a Twin turbo, I also have a 96 Twin Turbo and a 93 cherry red convertible(non turbo). I though it might be from the duals out the back... How hard was it to convert to the twin turbo?? I know the convertibles didnt come factory like that, so you had to of. I just took the engine and all that from a donor TT, its not particularly hard, just time and money consuming. Also, all 300zxs(z32s) came with dual exhaust, really, there is nothing in that picture you can see that indicates its a TT, you just got lucky :D If you want to see the repair of that convertible check out this link: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/93zxset1.html

I already own my dream car: Personally, I have about zero interest in $150,000 playthings of the super rich, I'm only interested in things people like you and me can hope to afford. Hence, $1000 jeeps are much more interesting than $150,000 sports cars.

Ya, the 97+ knob is quite nice, fits way better in your hand, and looks better. I'd go with that. And ya, all my older knobs always broke with that insert, I ditched it on my 96 real quick and got the newer knob. -

Some more parts arrived: Hehehe......return home from my early class, looky whats here at the door: Now lets get her inside and open her up! Ohhhhh purdy: As you can see its just a normal H3 bulb. I'm thinking H4 Xenons for the headlights, and H3 Xenons for the low beams........hehehehe I got everything but the "water proof" - it will not work for the MJ. I decided they would look better out in the sun' date=' so I went and took some more pics. Turns out they are way cooler looking out there: [img']http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/MJ38.jpg[/img] -
$125 MJ - Project 99 Cheromanche
Sir Sam replied to bucketheadben's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you want another way to trick out your truck you could install an overhead console for the gas mileage, compass, outside temp etc functions: http://jeepin.net/forum/showthread.php? ... ad+console Thats a writeup on how to cobble one together from junkyard parts, or you could get an actual cherokee console and install it. And so on......... -

Would you happen to have any pictures or any comments about the dash brackets that need to be switched over from the XJ? Also, for the Seat brackets have you considered cutting the front bracket off and then welding it to the floor? Thats what I was planning at least. -

Getting closer, got some misc connectors and crap I need to tie the CRD harness into the XJ dash harness, though they are slightly different so I will need to trim the plugs to fit. (they have an indexing tab so you can't install the wrong plug in the wrong place, great when you have 3 similar plugs together, not great when you can only find the one plug) I might check and see if I can get some repair connectors from Jeep that will give me the correct plug so I don't have to trim some off the plugs I have now. -
looks rust free for a canadia car.

About $300, and I got everything, thinking I would be installing this on an XJ. The rear flares and bumper end caps won't be used for example. But thats $300 into the country in washington, I still need to pay the guy for domestic shipping. the parts alone were about $165 for everything. sheesh! that's cheap as hell...did you get the wiring for the lights too or no? can you post up or pm me details on how to get the parts? I REALLY want this front end. $500 or less is worth it IMHO. crap, I had a nice post all typed up, and forgot to hit send apparently well, here: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... 51&page=29 -

little update, our parts have landed: -
I know this comment is old, but it relates to the doors. If you want to use the 97+ doors then you either need to change the strikers as already noted, or use the older latches(to work with the older strikers) The 97+ latches have the power lock built in, where the older style do not.

Colorado is nice, despite being a "winter state" our vehicles are usually rust free. I think the rust belt see's way more salt and moisture than we do. I'm sure I will find some surface rust around once I dig into it, but I'm not expecting to replace any sheet metal. *knocks on wood* -

Well the tow truck arrived today with the MJ, battery was dead so I had to push it up into the driveway. Put the battery charger on it and after a few hours it cranked enough for it to catch and startup. Had the battery charger on all day untill about 6:30, took the charger off, started it once, then shut it off. An hour later I came back and it turned over once or twice and then just clicked. Ran down to sams club and got a new battery, dropped it in and it fired right up. Moved it back and forth a little bit before backing it out of the driveway and going for a quick spin in my culdesac. Drives just fine, brakes feel a little soft. Oil on the dipstick looks about 2 quarts overfilled(way overfilled), right now after it runs for a little bit oil just spits out from around the valve cover. I will drain some oil, degrease engine, and then take a look at things. I saw no evidence of coolant leak when I drove it. Who knows. Oh ya, and the parking brake doesn't work. Also, it was a trip not to find it next to the center console, I wasn't expecting that.
