Ya I got some skyjacker disconnects I can use anyways. I haven't seen anyone else play around with this axle, I am hoping I can figure a way to get it to natively run 5x4.5 wheels without adapters.

or the disconnect swaybar. This was all that was availble, I didn't get to pull it off a donor vehicle otherwise a lot of other stuff would be crammed into the back of my jeep.

Bingo JK D44 with 4.10s and an E-locker. Gonna get a 8.8 with 4.10s and LSD to match for the rear, top it off with a TJ locker switch and I will have a nice factory like switch for the E locker. This is my ideal setup with a LSD for the rear and a selectable locker for the front. Cost me $300 for this axle, its missing the brakes and the passenger side knuckle, I will either rebuild it to JK specs and run adapters for 5x4.5, or replace the passenger side knuckle and try to run XJ unit bearings, or I might try WJ knuckles and calipers with XJ unit bearings(cheapest option thus far if it all works) The idea is that since this axle is wider than the XJ axles to keep it as narrow as possible, running adapters will just make it that much wider anyways. The WJ and the JK knuckles are also high steer, which I suppose is a nice way to go as well.

Have a "Comanche Street" in Junction City, KS. There is also a "Jeep Road" near Abilene, KS. I know that there are always crimestopper ads on the radio about "jeep road sign theft". Been tempted.... but never done it. Not a bad place you have there. Have you found those plates or bought them? I only bought like 2 or 3.

took him long enough to finally post pictures and post them, still tiny images though. came out nice.

Look at the upper part of the bed where something like buttons snaps used to be for a tonneau cover.

3 weeks? Are Smurfs painting it? Smartass They have to do all the bodywork and strip the panels off.... doors, hood, bed ect. And I guess a 20 year old Jeep truck is only cool to the guy who own's it because they were wondering why someone would even want to spend money on it. Huh.... I really don't know the answer to that. Oh I remember now...... because I want to, so paint the f'n truck. -Chris huh ok, I guess i was imagining it going out a little more stripped down.

So I had been pondering and pontificating on the issue of the overhead console. What came to my attention today was that the LCD is a similar size, I think the make the KJ overhead console work in the XJ overhead console I will mount the LCD display in the same place, and then connect it via a ribbon cable to the driver board hidden up somewhere where the larger XJ console has room to hide it. I will have to add two buttons to the XJ console to control the KJ EVIC, but it should be doable. I know its just one small part that will be years off, but at least I have it figured out, sorta, now. The difference in the size of the LCD: As you can see the control board is just too large to mount here, so if I solder on a ribbon cable I will be able to put the control board where there is room to hide it.

Are they any good? I think they are. After all they are found behind the new cummins DRs. downside is that they are computer controlled.........but you could probably build a stand alone, or adapt a standalone unit to work with one. Mating a non-computer controlled 4BT to a 68RFE? Good luck with that. The modern controls of the 6BT and 68RFE are very tightly integrated. It would be next to impossible to run a 68RFE off a stand alone computer. Willy (I was talking about a computer controlled 4BT actually, but if you were willing to go with a manual shift auto you could make it work just fine with a mechanical IP 4bt) I forget who.....but someone makes a standalone for the 545 RFE, I think that could be adapted to work just fine. Of course, this is assuming you don't just pick out a nice 40 pin PIC(and probably a couple of 4 or 8 pin PICs for monitor sensor input), splice in with the various signal leads that you need from the ECU, and program up your own controller(which is what I would do). Of course, I am betting that is beyond the abilities or knowledge of most people, but its not unreasonable. Several people have built their own controllers for the AW4 this way(although some of those were logic gates only, not programmable controllers)

I'm secure enough in my sexuality to goto an antique dealer.
-
So the antique dealer is swiping them and re-selling? What else does he have? :D Got my cat there too.

If it was, it would have a distinctive Jeep grill: http://images.google.com/images?q=jeep%20forward%20control&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi Yes, its too bad he didn't post a picture of the front huh?

Looks like it might be a Jeep Forward Control.

Whats wrong with the stop sign? everyone I've known with a stop sign swiped it off a pole. And I paid $8.50 and picked the best one out of a stack from an antique dealer.
