    I am back....

Aloha to all, I got back in the states 3 weeks ago, had to go to my mom's funeral, a Nissan pickup was driving erratically and hit her head on. She was driving a Ford F250 king cab with a 5th wheel in the back. So needless to say I havn't really felt like posting. I have ripped apart the dash and am going to change the ignition switch since it requires no key as of now, and change the non operational door locks. I am also pricing a paint job. Does anyone know where I can get factory pioneer decals to replace them? In the midst of tearing the door apart I found the original build sheet, pretty cool hu? Now I just need to sit down and decode it! Have fun and as Pete says...Jeep On!
  4. no prob, i was wondering that myself. Can you post that PM here?
  5. I am the one on the left....This is doing security operations somewhere in the world....
  6. ok how did you do it? I need to try something...
  7. OK I am back and already getting nagged at for speending more time with my mj than my wife  .... but now to the question, I need to dissamble my steering colom to get to my ignition switch, but how? Help time is ticking to get her back on the road (my mj not my wife)!

    Aloha to all

Thought you would like to see my d/d over here, thought you guys might get a kick out of what I "appropriated". It has a diesel engine with a snowmobile type of clutching system, 3 "gears" foward, neutral and reverse. It cruses along at 25Kmh. Why yes I have modified it. Governer has been shimmed, side windows removed and in the back seats were added. Just wanted to "show off" my pimp'n ride!

    Aloha to all

:USAflag: I see alot of new people on here! I can't wait to get back and work on my MJ. My "vacation" is almost over and I am not going to the beach for awhile....I am sick of sand and heat! Humvees still suck  and I wish I had a real 4X4 here. I am trying to scratch together some projects that I can work on when I get back for my d/d. Any ideas, besides ripping it apart and making it a trail vehical? Take car to all and a shout out to CW.
  10. Aloha to all, just a quick update on my forced military travels. I look out at all the sand and say to myself, "self, this would be a great place to take my comanche out on the dunes..." all this sand and no comanche to play in. Humvees suck, no real suspension. Oh well my fellow jeepsters, I need to e-mail the old lady, take care to all, and pray for my sanity
  11. As Pete said they need to go retro or at least keep up doing their own design. I am disappointed that Jeep is falling into the Humvee crowd.

Anything that makes me want to pick the heaviest object I can lift and throw it at someone!
  13. Aloha to all, got some time on the computer so I came here instead of e-mailing the wife....We need to add that to the list of how to know if you are a jeep junkie.... #26. If you are out of the country in a combat zone and you check the jeep tech site instead of e-mailing your wife. Anyways... When I did my bucket swap, I also grabbed the female end of the seat belt. They are usally just a little longer and have a hard plastic cover to keep them easily accessable instead of draping under the seat. Just a thought and one of those little things that makes it a little nicer
  14. I did it out of an almost necessity. My bench was in bad disrepair, and I could't find a bench to match my interior, and there were plenty of XJs in the junk yard....so...
  15. Oh yeah, all I had to do is drill out the rivets on the bucket tracks and my bracket bolted right up!
  16. Sorry it took so long to reply but I am not exactly around the house right now. When I did my swap I measured thebrackets that were on my bench seat. Armed with this I went to the junk yard and tore through 4 XJ's and found on that the rails on the bucket seat matched my bucke brackets. I really lucked out. I have a 89 MJ and the doner was a 86 if memory serves me correctly. Good luck or atleast good hammering.... :D . Let me know how it turns out!

Aloha to all, well I am over seas now and am using my time to write to all of you guys and let you know I am doing fine. I really miss coming to this site every day. It is actually quite cold here. Good jeeping conditions though, makes me miss it more. I wil write again when I can. Take care and break something for me Woody

    See ya for now!

I know I am not the biggest poster here but this forum and all on it I have to come to know as my comanche friends (which is funny because I am 1/2 german and 1/2 comanche indian). I unfortunately am going away for awhile and will not beable to "play" with my 89 pioneer, as the duties of Uncle Sugar and the Navy call me over seas. I will try to post while I am away but do not know the availabilty of internet to this site (a lot of blocked sites with the government). Thanks for the help on my truck, the laughs and intresting posts. Take care to all and see you in 6-9 months!
  19. exactly, we all are doing alot of the same stuff so it makes sense to share!
  20. how is your prime? there is a topic here I just can't find it right now talking about it. Turn on your key and listen for clicks, repeat a couple times and then try to start it. If it cranks over easly then it could be a fule pump.
  21. Let me know how that goes!
  22. How about a fabrication how to area? Some may benifit from this.
  23. The link seems to be dead. I found the original link on jeepsonly.com by accident. It looked pretty straight foward with minimal cutting. Looking at my options, I think I may build my own using MDF and carpeting the sides, then use upolstry foam and vinal for the top. I haven't made up my mind yet for the cup holders. Has anyone else done this? Let's see some of what others have done foe an add on center console! I think this may help a few of us out here.
