  1. You mean WJ. WJs have the high steer knuckle. You don't need the spacer with ZJ (93-98) brakes. But you do to run WJ (99-04) knuckles.
  2. Very interested in the bumper and truck box. If you saw my new pics ive alreday got wheels form one of my old XJs. PM me and we could work something out. Ive got XJ parts scattered all over my garage!
  3. Do you want it? Come get it. I have a few more wiring things to get out, but its pretty much stripped and you can have it.
  4. That second craigslist ad is mine. The rollbar sold as soon as i posted it. It was a factory LWB roll bar. And i might pick up that hitch. But mine is a 4-banger, so i don't know how much towing ill be doing..
  5. I am giving my MJ some much needed attention and was wondering if anybody sold tune-up kits for the TBI 2.5s (86 2.5L TBI to be exact) I see all kinds of them online for the 87+ XJs and YJs But none seem to offter anthing for 84-96 XJ/MJs. Just trying to get a package deal instead of dealing with the awesome customer service at auto zone. So far, the only difference I noticed in a 87 XJ 2.5 and the 86 MJ 2.5 is the air filter. Are the plugs wires/cap/rotor the same from TBI to MPFI 2.5Ls? Also anybody have some pat numbers for Accel or MSD wires/cap/rotor/coil? Since I'm going throught the trouble I might spend a few extra dollars instead of getting cheap stuff. Thanks fr any thoughts.
  6. Geoff ill go with you to look at it. Have you been getting the emails ive been sending you?
  7. Yes they will work, my dad and sister have 93 ZJs and the brakes are identical to my old 91 XJ.
  8. I saw the other thread an am interested too, I like the 2x6 box style but flush mounted by cutting the rear lower quarterpanels. Looks pretty good to me.
  9. Id rather just swap in a complete MPFI YJ motor. But I'm just going to clean up the engine bay as much as possible, problably get a new EGR they arent that expensive.. Plus i have to replace my exhaust manifold anyway. Anybody have any experience with the $37 manifold off ebay?
  10. I just picked up my rust free 1986 off craigslist in atlanta. It wasnt any of those you linked to, but i got it for $800. 2.5L 5-speed 2wd. Runs good. Looks pretty good too, but i making it look better. Like 1997 better. I saw a few of those you linked to in person, not that impresive for 4k. FYI there is one in Dallas, GA for $500 6-cyl, auto, 4x4 with a lift. Need fuel lines and some front end body parts.
  11. Summit racing has cheap black wheels as well and they usually have deals on shipping. Go with 15x7 if your going to buy new. If you run accross a used set of 15x8s go for it.
  12. Will it crank but not start? Or will it not crank? How far does it get before it doesnt fire up.. If the starter doesnt do anything it might be the NSS like everyine has said..
  13. My long start was related to Fuel. I replaced the fuel filter and it started a little faster. Wires/Plgs good? Not fouled or anything?
  14. I'm on it. (seriously) Only thing i can't do is the dash. Ive having issues with mine being a 4-cyl manual and the donor XJ being a 6-cyl auto. And I'm not swapping motors I want to keep the 4 popper.
  15. I just bought a manifold for a 2.5L 94 YJ and it doesnt have the port threaded for the EGR hook ups. So it won't work. (at least not for my 86 2.5L) Any other options ? I have another question.. What does the exhaust pipe piece in the left hand side of this picture actually do for the exhaust?
  16. The MJ has manual windows and locks now. I am selling these doors though. I'm putting in some XJ doors and they have power windows/locks. Sorry...
  17. Thanks, thats what i needed to know. No big deal, just need to figure out where my manifold is cracked now.
  18. Ya but my 97 doesnt have an EGR, nor did my 91, as long as its within its numbers it shouldnt matter right? they don't actually look and go "hey this one doesnt have an EGR"
  19. That color makes me what to hurl. I don't know what it is, but i don't like it. You should see it in person, its funny looking. It was a forestry dept XJ or so I'm told. Donor was picked up for parts, it had some DW and ran good, but missed little at idle, so i got it super cheap.
  20. Will removing an EGR valve lead to failing emissions? I'm trying to clean up my engine bay and removng all the egr piping/valve and blocking it off with a plate would be much cleaner/simpler. Also, my exhaust manifold is cracked. I have a YJ 2.5L exhaust manifold, that does not have an EGR port. So i could swap it on and it work be nice. But my ultimate question, why is it there??? Yes i know it reciculates some exhaust gas into the intake. Can this be removed? I'm working on a 2.5L throttle body injected 86 MJ. Thanks for any ideas.
  21. Thought I would update my project thread. So I picked up this MJ back in March 08. 1986 "Custom" Long Bed. Trying to save gas so i picked up the 2.5L 5-speed 2wd. Oh ya and its was rust free. :D Original Plans: 2-door XJ buckets/console 97+ Front clip conversion 3" lift 99 XJ Ecco Wheels 235s or 31s, metal valve cover since the lame plastic one has a hole in it. power windows/locks/keyless entry 97 mirrors Line-x Remove roll bar Tint windows Clean up the engine bay.. S-10 rear bumper. Paint Only thing i didnt get accomplised was the keyless entry, I ended up using the system I had on my sisters jeep, so no keyless for now. And I swapped the line-x for herculiner becasue I'm cheap, but havent rolled it on yet. The MJ the day i brought it home, it sputted all the way home, alternator died, and oil was spewing everywhere: Some progress as the Comanche gets some new shoes and no more mirrors or rollbar. Took off the front body parts off and started cleaning the engine bay. Removed the AC lines/accumulator since it was a disaster and i don't need it anyway. Start on re-working the alternator bracket and vacuum lines as well.. Got the 3" lift on, coils, leafs, shocks, and RE sway bar links/discos. Also got my front clip/fenders on. I decided not to change the hood because the 86 and 97 are different with the latches/strikers, so it was easier just to leave it, I had to paint it either way. Also got my full gauge cluster with tach installed. Just some more pics. At this point its officialy the clown mobile with all the different colors. Also got the 97 buckets and 97 console in. My donor 97 was in ok condition, so a few tears in the seats, but it sure beats the bench with a 3 foot x 1 foot hole in it. Got some 91 doors on it with 97 mirrors.
  22. www.car-part.com 8) gojeep.com has a write up on doing this for an XJ. Its all bolt up. Just get 97+ header panel/bumper/fenders and doors if you want.
  23. Moabs... they are 16" and they are on all the Rubicons until 07 i think.
  24. That rear bumper makes it look pretty clean... especially color matched to the truck. And ya.. look at the car domain. Mexico plates.
  25. Anybody catch what rear bumper it has? Looks like a Blazer or GMC Jimmy bumper?? Or is it factory?
