  1. Mine was stiff, silicone spray did the trick. Tons of it,often. I'd like to replace the weatherstrips(glass runs), just try to find them. Factory only ever sold the window as a unit. BTW,factory is 3 piece, one slider glass. Yours is evidently after the fact, you might be able to get parts someplace. Interested to hear what the group says about your molding. Mine's lifting in the lower corners. Not bad,but looks like crap, and I haven't come up with a fix.Black rtv held about a day,as did black silicone rubber.
  2. For Motion Offroad. re,the bumper with the grill guard. Do you sell just the headlight guards, without the grille guard? I have all but those 2 pieces, can't find anywhere on the intardnet. Thanks, Tracy.
  3. Coke in the keyboard, thankyou.
  4. Perfect.I will measure the LCA's and call and order them. Yer da best. Now,tell me how to stop the wheel hop I've inherited by going SOA? This Jeep is God testing me,isn't it?
  5. I dunno,I do it.Much cheaper to drive to work than my Chev diesel, Takes 30 minutes to change after wheeling,I spend 2 hours pressure cleaning it anyway, good chance to get the brakes cleaned of mud and nasties. I just kept the stock tires and rims when I bought my offroaders. Didn't cost anything. Does it look silly with 4.5" lift on street tires?Probably.Do I care?Nope. I bought it to wheel, not to show off.Don't worry too much what other people think your ride looks like. If you're like the rest of us,it'll look like poo anyway after you wheel it a bit.Sheet metal is way overrated.

Yea,those skins would be great around here. Might be rough on my turdy30 though. And I'm guessing from the pic it's a mudder. Seee,I'm learnin'.Gettin' muh educashun here, don't ya know. 8)
  7. Told ya.Good people here. Now if you guys would tech me how to search effectively.
  8. A couple of the guys on here have replaced them with different stuff,I used some out of a custom van we had laying around work. I tried searching for threads, but I'm new too.Try it. I'm sure you'll get some responses shortly. Factory ones are nla,so either fab in something,or find in a yard. Bunches of aftermarket lamps available,I'm just too dumb to tell you where to look. The real folks will be along and tell you what to use.Hang tight.
  9. To Motion Offroad. It's a Roughcountry 4.5" kit. Yea I know,I learned that lesson. LCA's are (i'm guessing) 16.5"??? Track bar bracket drilled and bar moved to left 3/4".(which I didn't appreciate. On line they show the kit having a bracket, they quit using it???) Factory track bar. Rear was AAL's and shackles, now removed. I didn't get 6.5" going SOA,I assume rear springs being 20 years old have sagged a bit.I can live with that. I probably got 5,maybe 5.5".I'm good with that too. In fact,it sits very much like Highlandjeepers. I'd like to lift the front maybe an a inch, but not if it's going to be another huge expensive project. BTW,88',4x4,4.0.5spd,30 n 35.32x11.50 Goodyear M/TR's. Thank you for your advice.

    ever wish

No.My first Jeep.6 mo's. into the ordeal. I still have inchitis. I just wish we had hills,or rocks,or something other than sand and mud. My driveway is the steepest thing I've climbed so far,and I'm way over built for that. :D I'm praying for a good hurricane this season so's I can go play.

mj is awesome,a little overkill me thinx. I wheel the south Fl swamps, lots of places down here that wouldn't fit between the trees. xj way ghey.
  12. Thanks,Highlander. Didn't mean to hijack. I have 4.5" lift in front.Just went SOA. Rear is now an inch or so higher than front, depending on where you measure from. :jump: I'm wondering if I can get away with a 1.5" spacer in the front to level it and get a little more clearance without throwing a wrench in the monkey works. Rough Country 4.5" lift.Maybe Motion Offroad can tell me if I'm whacked. Will watch your thread. Also learn to read.Highlandjeeper.Sorry.
  13. Don't worry, yer doin' great. I will get SS brake hoses as money(spelled mama) permits. For now, after spending every night for a week and a half and all last weekend swapping axles,I'm sick of looking at the bottom of the thing. My eyes won't hold any more dirt or grease. Ever slop a drop of brake fluid in yer eye? Amazing how quick a creeper will actually go. And I really feel the need to do some low speed mud slingin'. :D
  14. Question for Highlander. Control arms and whatnot you installed are for 4" lift. When you put the 2" spcers in,did it not throw the front end geometry all off? Does it drive ok?
  15. Ok,got brake hoses.Appear to be longer and the same size fittings. You guys may be alright after all.
  16. Thankyou. Ordered hoses for '90 Chev c10. Will try them tonight. I've been here off and on,I'm the one who got the xj axles cheap, had a big discussion about changing from 3.08 to 3.55. I did it,locked them, just getting the bugs worked out. 3.55's are fine I think,I can use 5th gear again. It left when I went to 32x11.50's, with the 3.08's. Have to mount rear shocks better(long story)fix the brake issue, and try it offroad. Hopefully Sunday. Will try to be here more on than off. HopefullyI'll have something to offer up.Pretty good Mopar parts guy,but I think BLHTAZ has ya'll covered there. And I will take pics and post this weekend, without fail.
  17. Yes,bleeders on top. You can give me all the hard time you want, you may get it back though. :brows: (all in good fun) I got on here to learn, and have fun. My club and forum,a little stuffy. And Pirate4X4,well those guys are just plain brutal, not fun. Although,I think you guys oughta get the Pirate salute smiley. It could get put to good use around here.Like for me. I'll try the hoses.
  18. Not one of mine, maybe? The locker deal.?I thought I did ok on that one.Or not. I'm learning, trying not to be a complete dope.Learning to wheel, fab, weld, swap axles, lock axles, all sorts of neat stuff. Not a tech,a parts guy. First Jeep. Bear with me. I'll be as good as the guys on Pirate4x4 someday. Now,quit picking on me and tell me why my brakes are f'ed up. :D And seriously, thankyou all for helping me out.
  19. No,male. :brows: 53 yrs old, grey hair, not blonde. If I was female, wtf would that explain?? Do I come off that dumb? I am that dumb,but....
  20. Won't use same year(88) yj hoses. Not Mopar anyway. Discontinued. Calling Bumper to Bumper.
  21. MiNi Beast, thankyou for the link. I work in parts at a Dodge dealer like BLHTAZ, so I can order up the yj lines from here. I will put some pics on here asap, promise. I did put the xj axles under it after all, just finishing up. Had a problem, left front brake is dragging/locking up, don't find anything broken or binding,a tech suggested brake hose may be collapsing, thus the brake hose question. I can't find any other reasonable cause for the issue. Maybe I didn't get all the air out after the swap? Can that cause brakes to lock up? If anyone has any clues, jump in.If more info is needed to make a suggestion, let me know. BTW,anyone needs to swap mj to xj axles,I a pro now. And it ain't all that much fun. Again, many thanks, Tracy.
  22. '88 mj,5" lift. What vehicle brake hoses are somewhat longer than original and will bolt up?Thanks for your help.
  23. Scared ya,huh? Too much good info on here to get ticked and quit.
  24. No problem...seeeee ya!
  25. No,I don't see the "larger"in the Aussie.Maybe if they were not for different axles,I'd be able to see it. But now that you mention it,the 35 case had to be filed to allow the Aussie to fit.So apparentl,it's bigger. I know you're in the biz,I'm not, just a dumb parts guy in a Dodge dealership, you are a lot more informed than I am. Not trying to start anything, just posting my opinion for the OP. I'll gracefully back out,if I've offended, mods can delete my post. This ain't Pirate4x4,I don't want to junk up this forum. Sorry.
