  1. OK so I've now had Ghostie for 2 months and last Sunday I put oil in her ( she seems to consume about a quart a week and we hadn't figured out yet where it was going). Monday she starts PUKING grey blue smoke out her exhaust in 1st and 2nd gear. Only when cold and only when under HEAVY acceleration (she is also making upper end "rattling" noises during this). Today she starts doing the PUKING all the way thru 3rd gear. She is an '88 Comanche, 4.0L (for the last 7 years she was "babied" by the guy I bought her from)........I don't baby my rigs I drive them how they should be driven. My question is has anybody run into this issue and if so where do I start for the fix........My mate thinks Timing Chain because the problem is inconsistent. Sunday she will be parked when I get home and I will get the XJ out for DD until we can fix Ghostie.
  2. You done yet????????
  3. $3.46 and up are the averages in Western WA
  4. DO it while it's out it is a PITA to do with the engine in the truck.
  5. Black rims for sure
  6. A locksmith who does cars can make you a key for the doors or can rekey it to the key you have for your ignition. (My mate is a locksmith but he doesn't "do" cars).
  7. Buckets
  8. The Gal my Mate dated (very Briefly) before we met didn't like Jeeps or wheelin'. Then he met me. I posted up on another site (PNWJeep.com) that since my XJ had been totaled I needed a passenger seat until I could replace it. He responded and we have been pretty much inseparable since. I now have 2 and he still only has 1 but he's trying to get a '67 J3000 for our tow rig.

XJ is a Jeep Cherokee and MJ is a Jeep Comanche
  10. Bench or bucket? If bucket they may not be original to the vehicle and are out of a 4 door XJ which means they don't have the folding mechanism. If Bench...........Check for broken linkage under the seat
  11. Hello; My names Stef. I agree that Women can definately wheel just as well as men as a matter of fact I usually scare the men when I take my '89XJ (Purple Haze) out. My DD is an '88 MJ (Ghostie) and she's got the 4.0L, 5 sp, 2wd. All plans for her are street performance mods. I have more plans for Purple Haze as she is my Wheeler. Jeeps are in my blood and have been since I was a baby. This pic is last July 4th......Notice rear tire is stock front tire is 33" other three tires are also stock (guess who didn't have a spare :D and had to use her Mate's spare) ran the entire park in 2wd and only need one tug... I normally run 31's but was using street tires DD (before MJ). This was last Saturday when we brought Ghostie Home Purple Haze sitting behind Ghostie and we did put the canopy back on but only so I can haul shtufff. I think Ghostie looks ever so much more sexy topless. The reason her name is Purple Haze Me Wrenching on Purple Haze Sorry not enough pics of Ghostie but I haven't even had her a week yet give me some time :D Oh yeah and a pic of my Mate's Jeep: We are in the great Pacific NW
