  1. I serched and serched everywhere and nobody seems to be able to get them - I lucked out on a complete door in good condition for 10 bucks - I got it for the regulator alone....
  2. OHHH the one you gave to me to swap into my mj a couple of years ago...I don't think so pal, the statue of limitations expired a long time ago, Oh waite you can have it back for a small storage fee - SUCKER!!!
  3. I did not know you had a spare? where did you get it?
  4. I agree with CW - to give you an example , I too had a 4 cyl jeep turning 33 inch tires and 4.56 gears and it was slugish on the higway - 5th gear was useless - no complains offroad. Our good friend has a 4cyl turnig 35 inch tires but we spapped d44 out of a waggy and went as low as we could - 5.89's and now his jeep can keep higway speeds on 5th gear with no problem and offroad is a crawler because it has a teralow4to1 also.
  5. I have 2 ba/10, one has 210K on and 87 xj and the other 155 on 88MJ both runing just fine - I do have a spare ax15 with t-case just in case but so far so good!
  6. I think you will need an Mj tank - xj do not fit. Now is the time to get a larger one if you already do not have one.
  7. Well - I just got done helping CW change his pump on his Mj - was a very easy job, took all but an hour and that included a beer brake. Everything came out nice and easy, it did help that CW sprayed everything with penetrating oil for a few days but overal was an easy project. CW will post pics as soon as he gets a chance.
  8. Ok I'm in desperate need to replace the gas tank straps on my 88 LWB comanche - they are in pretty bad shape. I can not find these anywhere because aparently they are no longer avaylable so what do I do besides serching in the junk yard??? I can not be the only one here replacing these so let me hear what you guys have done.
  9. CW, in the spring I’ll do your headliner - it’s a snap to do ! After all I’ve done it in the MJ and XJ. When we remove the interior and take out the carpet we can clean the floor nice, fix any rust that might be there and re install the carpet if you like. I took mine right out and use bed liner material and coated the entire floor and I like it better but you interior is going to get a bit louder than before - no big deal just turn up the radio!!!! I upgraded my radio to a pioneer unit which is plenty loud. I installed 6.5 inch quality speakers in the front panels - I had to trim the cardboard panels from the inside only, this is not visible from the outside so you can not tell at all. In back I remove the factory 4 x6inch speakers and installed another set of Bose 4x6 inch. When I was there I notice that larger set of 6.5 or even 6x9 can be made to work too but I did not have a set handy so I settle for the 4x6 set. Once I put everything back together it actually sounds very nice and is very clear. The speakers put out nice highs and lows plus keep in mind is a small cab so it will definitely fill it with quality sound.
  10. check for a connection under the dash to the right of the steering colum if not very close to it. My 88 Mj had it diconnected - this plug provides power from the fuse box to the lights/switch. Look for a black wire with a yellow tracer ( it migh be yellow with a black tracer - can not remember ) check is connected. good luck.
  11. check the switch @ the doors, mine were corroded - they provide the 12v ground to the lights. Check you have constant power to the lights by removing one and testing the cables with a test light - if you do then the problem is the ground switch. good luck.
  12. I had the same problem with my YJ a few years back - it began when I swapped an aftermarket 4wheel disc brake master cyl. and brake booster... after countless hrs of bleeding installing and reinstalling my brake pedal was nice and soft untill I realized the brake lines were installed backwards at the master cyl. :wall: once we swapped them (front to back and back to front) it was all good!!!! good luck.
  13. You are very welcome my friend!!! it was fun...
  14. CW has wayyyyyyyy tooooooo much time... don't ask me how I know
  15. CW - WOW, all that shiny diamond plate blinded me for a few minutes... luckly I had my welding helmet handy and put it on before I went blind!!!! You Rock!
  16. I did mine at the begining of the summer (88mj) I strongly suggest you replace the dryer with a new one. Also make sure your hoses are fine and they do not leak. For best results I removed the AC compressor in order to remove as much of the old oil as possible, also I blew some compresses air thru the lines to again remove as much of the old oil - then I hooked up the new dryer and vaccumed the system and istalled the correct amount of new oil and new refrigerant. In my case the a/c blows nice and cold after the conversion!!! godd luck.
  17. Oh...Oh... that is going to cost you some jeep money!
  18. Well if you get the mount come on down and we will swap it in no time - easier that pulling the t-case!
  19. swapping T-case huh? where? I did not know you had a spare on waiting to go in... check the control arms, mine gets lose every now and then (pass.side only) and it clunks on me.
  20. Hey... is that the posi-lock I was supposed to get....
  21. Thank You.... CW steered me the wrong way, blew around 10 fuses and almost got the dash on fire!!!! With friends like these who needs enemies – just wait until I have to work on his truck… :-D
  22. Can anyone tell me the how to wire the factory elctrical switches. I'm refering to the fog light, cargo light, switches etc. I want to run my aftermarket lights with the factory switch I have but do not know which contact in back is ground, switch 12V. and constant 12v. does anybody knows???
  23. All done, thanks CW!!! We found out that the fan diode was bad and that the fan relay does not have a 12v constant source of power unless the truck is running - once we figure it out everithing checked out. I have to get a new diode and I'll be all set.
  24. That make sense.... thanks!!!
  25. Roadless - you are right and that is exacly how the book describe it but when I trace the red wire all the way to the passanger side of the engine - this red wire goes into the A/C relay - this confuses me because the AC relay does not connect with any fusible links - I mean I see all of them right next to the battery - I pulled on them but they do not seem to be broken, is there a way to test these fusible links one by one - I spent many Hrs. going around in circles last night :(
