looks like a cool kit, with this type of kit do you get more flex? can go with higher lift? what is the reason your going with it?

so i went to a place to get my truck aligned yesterday. i agree to the $69.00 and fill out a form. so i sit down and start the 45 minute wait. the guy comes back into the waiting room and asks if i have any radiator problems. i walk out to the shop and my truck is on the hoist pouring out antifreeze. not just leaking, pouring! he told me he took it around the block to see if it needed aligned and when he got back it was leaking????? ive never been to a shop that needed to drive the car around the block before the alignment. so, they could put in a new radiator but it will cost $400.00 at first i agreed, just to get it done. then i started asking about the money. he said it was $80.00 for labor and the rest was the radiator. needless to say i jumped in my truck and drove it back home.

agreed. i plan on getting my drive shaft worked over. i do however want to change the slip yoke to the yj. on another note, i took my mj to a place to get aligned. I'm waiting for it to get done when the guy comes in and says "do you have radiator problems?" so i went out to the garage and antifreeze was pouring out of the radiator. i guess they took the truck around the block to see if it needed aligned??? when they got back the radiator had a huge hole in it. ive never been to the shop before, so i don't know anything about them. i have never had problems with the radiator and its only 4 months old. what the hell? :headpop:

4 wheel drive not working...
JEEPERZ replied to Bansheemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
good call, I'm shimed and never going back  i found out i had a vacuum leak very similar to what happend to you. i went with some buddies, drove like 1 1/2 hours to get there to find my 4x4 didnt work. i could get it into 4x4 by unplugging a vacuum hose on the side of the actuator on the axle. but didnt realize that until i was home :headpop: -
just finished the lift, so i know all the bolts are good. i still need to get it aligned and change the u-joints. hopefully that should take care of it. yea, i like the pier in the summer, nice views :D

props on cleanin that thing out. when i got mine it was pretty clean inside, but when i lifted the floormat to check for rust, there was a dead mouse under there. i left it :D ill take care of it when i redo the mat -

yesterday, i put the trackbar on and the sway bar drop brackets. rustys adj track bar is a POS :headpop: i can't get the pin back in the castle nut. there is just no way. i even over tightened it and it won't go in. I'm going heavy duty like this when i over tightened it, i stripped the castle nut. its installed with a new nut, but i don't have the pin in it. so i jumped on the freeway to check things out last night, and of course i have death wobble, not necessarily the trackbar, but just post lift stuff still to do. i have an appointment next week to extend the d/s and do new u-joints. i also need to get it aligned still and need to extend the brake lines. its amazing how much ive learned doing this myself. can't wait til I'm done with the lift stuff so i can start searching for a d44, maybe i should have done that first :D

cool, let me know

-
thanks guys, thats what i needed  guess ill be selling the steel shims
-
when i ordered my bolt on soa kit from RR, i had done some searching to find the size shims i would need for the rear for the proper pinion angle. I ordered 5* steel ones. the most info i could find was to wait until it was done and look at it to see what needs done. right now I'm using the stock angle. what is somewhat of a standard, is 5* ok? I'm fairly new at wrenching so i can't just look at it and know what i should do. what are you guys using for * on a SOA with stock shackles? steel shims are expensive!!!

before lift after lift after all the post lift fixes, TIRES :D will be the next thing addressed 33 x 10.5 x 15 my fiance is starting to get pissed about the money I'm spending. she just doesnt understand

well today, i cut out of work a bit early :D and started putting in the the parts i got from rustys. i put in the lower control arms and the new front shocks. tomorrow i will put on the drop brackets for the sway bar and the rear shocks. i did however drive it around a bit. I'm a little on the nervous side driving it because of the drive shaft issue, but i couldnt help it. i love the new height. oh yea, i need to put on the new track bar as well. its getting there, this weekend ill do the new brake lines too.
-
