  1. I'm on it. Out of curiosity, what happens when it plugs up?
  2. Sounds like it's praying to the Porcelin God Chico. :D X2 on the cat... Actually in person it sounds more like the truck's farting thru metal @$$ cheeks. Sorry, no other way to explain it. The Gods have spoken. Cat is coming off
  3. mmmm K, here's the only way I could get the video to show. Watch my finger as I blip the throttle. You''ll hear the noise. Right at the end I slowly accelerate and it doesn't make the noise. Noise quality sucks cause it's a cell phone but you get the picture. Let me know what you guys think or I can try and take another video farther away so you won't hear the engine as much.
  4. Belt is tight 87. It's what I thought too at first but that's not it. MMMM, cat huh Brent. I guess there's no way to really check that unless i rip it off. I wonder if it's bolted or welded on. I gotta go check. While I have it off, is there any disadvantage to hollowing the cat out. I don't need it for emissions here. At least what I mean is they won't hook it up to a sniffer. It just has to look like it's sitting there because of the year and miles. I'll eventually put a new one on, I just don't feel like spending two hundred some odd dollars on it right now. I'm working on getting a video up. Anybody got any other ideas in the meantime?
  5. Yeah, I'm gonna need help with this one. How do you guys post a video up with sound so I can just let you guys hear what the MJ is doing? I'm having a hard time even explaining it to my self. Here's my best attempt. It sound like metal hitting metal. Remember in grade school when someone dragged a chair across the cafeteria floor? That's it. It sounds like it's coming from where the intake and exhaust mani's are. At first I thought it was suspension related, because it would do it as I was turning a corner. Then I noticed it makes said noise if I'm standing still. Never makes it while I'm cruising. Does it when I hit the throttle at a light to go and then stops. I can feel a stutter/vibration in the gas pedal when it makes this sound. If I pop the hood and blip the throttle by hand so it'll rev from idle to 2500 RPM's it does it. It does not do it if I accelerate the throttle by hand slowly. I also thought it was an exhaust leak but the truck isn't any louder. I can't see any part of the exhaust hitting anything when the throttle is hit and I'm under the truck. I've seen three differnt guys and nobody has a clue. Could it be something in my throttle body is jacked? Besides the stuuter in the gas pedal when the noise is made the truck runs and shifts perfectly normal. Anybody got any ideas on what to start looking for? edit: I figured out how to post video. I'll post one up 2morrow.
  6. I agree with Maddzz. And if it doesn't get better I think Sunpro sells a mechanical gauge that screws into where the sender is to tell you if the gauge is off. I think I saw it on Amazon.com the other day.
  7. Replace the braided ground line at the back of the engine and run a second ground from your negative battery post to the fender.
  8. Does it look like mine or are the two closer?
  9. See I think something like that is happening on mine. Except I think the noise is coming from that gap that's getting bigger when there's a load on the engine.
  10. Here's what I'm talking about. Does the spacing in between the mani and the downpipe look spaced too far apart? I'm trying to diagnose a strange noise my truck makes that sounds like a chair rubbing across the cafeteria floor in grade school. It happens when I turn a corner or I'm sitting still idling at a light and blip the throttle. I've gotten four differnt responses from mechanics ranging from the tie-rod is hitting the diff cover to my engine is blown. So what do you guys think about the space in between the two?
  11. Can somebody take a pic of where their exhaust mani meets the downpipe? I'm trying to see if the space in between mine is normal. I'll explain later. TIA
  12. That's it. Everybody load up and move to SC.
  13. Nope, you're not, but there hasn't been a great since Tupac kicked the bucket.
  14. What are you guys a bunch of ninnies. A leaf spring quick disconnect is made so you can get MORE FLEX on those off camber trails. Even I know that and the farthest I've been offroad is parking on my front lawn instead of the driveway after drinking one too many cocktails. :rotfl2: The good news MV is now you have money to buy those tires to go with your 3" lift :D
  15. ej, I got the cable at Autozone.
  16. Not yet, I will probally pick one up next week when i stop at the auto parts store. I am hopefully getting my ball joints and axle u-joints done next week too. Sorry for the hi-jack. Actually Jim, we're not hi-jacking. I know almost everyone on this forum has a problem with hardstarting. I changed every sensor and "tune-up" part on my MJ. Nothing made a differnce. That is until I put a negative battery cable on that had a second wire running from the negative post of the battery to my fender for ground. My truck went from turning over 4-5 times before starting to starting instantly every single time. Maybe it was a fluke but I'd like to know if anyone else had a similar experience. I'll take a pic tommorow in the daylight to show you guys what I have.
  17. Jim, did you ever get the negative battery cable with the extra body ground?
  18. Haven't figured that out yet. Right now I'm strapping my Big-Gulp to my Fire-Extinguisher which is buckled in with the seat belt on the passenger side of my bench seat. And I lied. I used NGK's........... I think......whatever Eagle used Bloody short-term memory loss
  19. I can't believe that guy can talk that much at 200 MPH. That's gotta be an extremely smooth track and car. I've done 130 in a VW 140 in a BMW and had the pleasure of 150 in a Porshe sitting in the passenger seat. Every single time I thought I was gonna crap my pants. That vidoe gave me a panic attack. I'm going to go take an Adavan and a couple shots of Yager and try and calm myself down.
  20. I put RESTORE in. I think it made it worse
  21. Skippy, You still need this?
  22. Get a three inch lift. Then throw 31's on when your ready.
  23. Maybe this will help. Jeep tech note I.S. 14E explains how to check the ride height on a Comanche. They use the chassis and suspension not the hubs and flares. Front: ------ Measure vertical distance between top of axle tube (looks like just inboard of the LCA mount) to the under side of the frame rail. For the passenger side, measure from the axle tube just outboard of the vacuum disconnect housing. The book says for 2WD models the distance should be 6-3/4" +/- 1/2". For 4WD models the distance should be 7-3/4" +/- 1/2" Rear: ------ Measure from the top of the axle tube to the underside of the frame rail inboard of the rubber bump stop. For 2WD the distance should be 8.2" +/- 1/2". For 4WD models the distance should be 9.2" +/- 1/2" So there you have it. That's the official specs. This should be posted on the DIY forum.
  24. B, is that cable and housing or just cable?
