  1. Quick background. Truck was running fine until parked due to rear axle decided to explode. That was 10-12 years ago. I started tinkering on the truck put a fresh battery in and realized my fuel pump was dead. Went through the fuel system, new pump sending unit tank and regulator. Fuel to the rail. I get a crank but no start. Pulled a plug and I get a good spark whole cranking. Checked CPS at plug and voltage was low. Replace CPS. Nothing. Try another CPS. 0 voltage at plug with sensor isolated from truck wiring. I am going to do the cruiser checks but if I'm still confused. Should I see spark with a bad CPS?
  2. Bought another sensor from Napa this time. I get zero volts while cranking this one. Incredibly frustrating
  3. Thanks. I haven't done that. But I'm checking right at the sensor. I don't think the c101 is my issue (yet)
  4. New CPS installed and tests bad. Ughhh. Oh well. I pulled my winch bumper on and threw a bumper and header on to get motivated. Mmmm chrome
  5. Bought a standard from rock auto. Had a time getting old out and new in. Cranks. No start. Measures .1 volt while cranking
  6. Yes. Leftover parts from scuzzy live on!
  7. I have that same saw. It will cut more than 2x4... I ran a job cutting 4x4 columns. At least 100 PCs. Plus all the other stuff I have cut with it. It's still kicking
  8. Got the fuel system buttoned back up. Only to find a no start situation. First thing I checked was CPS. It was out of spec. Sigh. This is what I get for neglecting the poor truck
  9. Good morning I have been working on getting my truck running after a 10+ year hibernation. I went through the fuel system only to find a crank and no start. Tested the CPS(thanks cruiser) and it was not in spec. So. What is the preferred manufacturer of cps. Is the dealer the only option?
  10. Hung one of the fenders I picked up from another member. Looks like lift height is close. Need to bump the axle forward a few inches
  11. I got to thinking. Whoever painted it must of only quoted a half gallon... Or maybe a gallon of bondo. You really couldn't tell it was caked on so thick. I think they ran out when they got to the end of the bed. So it didn't get smoothed out like the rest
  12. Rock auto messed my order up. So I'm still waiting on parts. Hopefully I will hear this thing run soon. While I had time. I started investigating the funky body work on my rear bed corner. You can see the pic on the first page of this thread... Well I followed the bondo. Looks like my truck side swiped something in the past. So. Much. Bondo. My hat is off to whoever did the sanding
  13. For simplicity I would order the sending unit and pump from them. ( They also sell on eBay) I already had a bosch pump before I knew I also needed a sending unit. I had to adapt the pump to fit.
  14. Wheel backspacing width and tire width make a big difference. 10.50s will probably fit easy with the right wheels. I had 33x13.5s on 10" wide wheels and they ate the fenders turning
  15. This is what I was thinking since you were under the dash already
  16. A member in the classified section has 3 of these for a better price
  17. While I am waiting on parts I had some more free time over the weekend. I pulled the rest of the interior minus the dash and headliner. I pulled the header panel and fenders off. I have a pair of uncut fenders that will go back on the truck. You can see my driver door is hanging by a thread. Started getting the bed unbolted as well.
  18. All my parts came in. Got the new Bosch pump retrofitted to the new mts sending unit plumbed it all when started cranking and now I have a puddle of fuel under the engine bay. looks like it's coming from the regulator. I ordered a line repair kit. Not sure if I need a regulator as well yet. Oh well.
  19. Thanks everyone for the help. One last question. Does anyone have the pn for the strainer for this style pump? The guys at 2 parts stores were less than helpful
  20. I got the last one (according to rock auto) Bosch 69302. Not pictured is the cable that should adapt the wiring. So I'm better off running a hose clamp to this pump then buying one that will drop in my sending unit?
  21. Hmmm. Do you have a part number for the pump that should drop in? I thought I bought the correct one for the truck Thanks!
  22. Hey guys. I purchased the Bosch fuel pump for my truck after I realized my pump was dead. Once I pulled the sending unit I realized how bad the tank and sending unit were. So I went ahead and ordered the new mts sending unit without a pump... What I can't figure out is how you put the 2 together! I'm assuming something like the picture and some hose clamps?
  23. Tank and straps are here from rock auto. Seems USPS lost my sending unit... Still waiting
  24. My grandfather bought one new back in the day. It was my favorite truck. I still have the limited edition plaque that came with it
  25. I just received the same tank. I was surprised to see it was made in Canada. I assumed it would of been China Do you guys paint these before you install them?
