  1. That is what I was thinking too, they also had the offset rear axle. Or was that in the older waggys? If you PM me the Bill of Materials number I can tell you what gears are in it (like 2.73 gears that were in my waggy 44) and if it has a limited slip, and the Spicer part numbers for about anything else on those axles.
  2. I would get the axles, engine tranny t-case, and if it is 4wheel disc get the master cylinder and proportioning valve. the mentioned LO has to do with the pinion. that would be a low (comes out of the axle low) pinion. Where in IA are you? (besides under all the snow)
  3. Just to be different I ran a 79 F150 4x4 hose (but I do have a 9" out of a 79 Bronco)

    DSL Questions

What upgrades do you need, and who told you you need them? I've been making inquiries to AT&T (which is, I believe, the only option available to me where I live). So far I have had responses from three different people, and that means I have three different opinions (actually four, as one of them waffled when I asked a question about the initial message) regarding whether or not DSL will work with my computer. Meanwhile, my IT friends all tell me it will work, and my computer at work is less powerful than what I have at home and that chugs along just fine on an AT&T DSL connection, so it's obvious that their techies in India or Pakistan or wherever they hide out don't really have a clue. I will ask more questions to Qwest, but my processor is too slow (I think).

    Oil Change

Napa Gold and Car Quest Blue are Wix filters, but I am not sure about the Napa silver and Car Quest red (I think that they are made by wix also). When I call the techline for Car Quest filters and Napa it goes to Wix. O'riley carries Wix (actual brand). That is what I use.

    DSL Questions

Thanks for the replies, I found out that my computer needs some updating before I can make the jump. AT&T said it was not available, but Qwest said it is, Qwest is my phone provider, so I should be able to get a deal by getting long distance, local, and internet on one bill (I am going to check into their directv service too, since I have that).

    DSL Questions

How fast of DSL should I get? 1.5 Mbps for $31.99 or 7 Mbps for $41.99 I am thinking about getting the faster one, even though my computer is not that fast. http://www.qwest.com/dsl/ I also found out that if I get other services through Qwest, I can save a little, is it worth it?
  8. Get a Uniden 510. It is very small (about the size of a VCR tape) and is very durable. :hateputers:
  9. Who's 35s, not mine!! And what about that tailgate you wanted?
  10. Even though you got the rotors, I can look up the axle info for you if you give me the build number off the axle tube. I can tell you what it came off of and the year.
  11. A waggy dana 44 has 6 lug hubs, so you would have to have different wheels front to back. waggy axles are geared higher than Comanche axles (something like 2.73 gears  ) and waggys are soa in the rear. If it was my truck, I would get a lock rite or another lunchbox locker, and I think that they are easier to put in than an axle.
  12. Can that one be put anywhere? (I just cut my fenders and removed my bumpers)
  13. I just wish I had a floor to put the POR-15 on
  14. That wasn't me, but I know that slacker. Watch the web site, there is a club meeting coming up if you want to come.
  15. Is there any other parts you are looking for? I am in your neck of the woods often enough. (wheeling at Dan's MIOBI style ) Are you a MIOBI member? http://www.miobi.org
  16. Got it, thanks :waving: :clapping:
  17. 35" SX swampers (15.5 wide) 4.5" RE Coils ACOS short arms Dana 44 axle out of a wagoneer 9" rear out of a 79 Bronco I think the short arms are going to limit my travel so that will get changed later (after I wheel it a little).
  18. Thank you for that write up, I forgot to get back and check. I might have clearance issues with my tires, but I am going to put on the TJ flares and see what happens.
  19. Check NAPA, and if they don't have 'em go to a semi trailer shop. If my memory still works, each light is less than $2, and the mount has the wiring built in (mount may not be included).
  20. http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=23804&langId=-1 sorry about the long link, but would this work? the other one I posted I didn't look at the size. I think there is an LED version of this light too
  21. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=12298&highlight=#12298 I found that out too, keep us posted on the results I may just run GL-3, it has worked fine for years.
  22. good idea, but I already have a VIAIR and a thomas air comrpressor, so I am going to remove my compressor and move the alt. up there. I am also going to wire up a 3 position switch to my fan (auto, off, on) I am really suprised how easy it is. I removed my front bumper, and I could not resist doing as little cutting FUN!!!!!! :brows: I am not going to be working on the Comanche this weekend, going to the ARCA race and the ASA race at the new Iowa Speedway (it even smells like new) if you watch Speed channel on Sunday I will be that one drunk fool in the RV area
  23. Closer, Yes, but not that close, i just balanced my checkbook and realized the Jeep may not be getting the new parts for a while. :hateputers:
  24. Harmonic Balancer needs replaced, and the power steering pulley is cracked ( I think that was one of the reasons I quit driving it every day). Alternator, that is what I was thinking, and I am going to replace it (it's freakin old) AC I don't think so, the compressor is there, but the lines and wires are unhooked (it will soon be removed anyway, I am planning on putting the alternator there). It will mainly be a trail rig, so I am not too worried about it. thanks for the replies Brian
  25. Ok I started the Comanche after it has sat for 3 years getting redone (no pics, so don't ask), but when I started it the idle was very rough, almost like I had a big cam in it, and running rich. Today I started it and I heard a noise, like a belt squealing, it got worse and then stopped. This is where the good comes in--the idle was perfect, it might still be a little rich, but it ran and idled 10000% better than it ever did. So what do I need to look at, I was thinking IAC motor, but would like some input. 88 Eliminator 4.0 no cat Y pipe and dual worn out Thrush Glasspacks dana 44 front (waggy) 4.56 ARB Ford 9" Rear (79 Bronco) 4.56 mini spool and moser 31 spline axles :redX:
