mvusse Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Okay, so I'm leafing through my manual and I came by some drawings of a Comanche with measurements (pages 74 and 75). It has a table with 2 columns, one for the 7 foot box and one for the 6 foot box. The overall length, bumper to bumper, is listed as 494.0cm, 195.5" for the 7 foot box, and 455.2cm, 179.3" for the 6 foot box. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I thought a 1 foot difference would be 12", but 195.5-179.3=16.2" So with a 16" difference, what are the lengths of a 6 foot box and a 7 foot box?
fiatslug87 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The inner measurements at the top of the bed (inside the front rail to the tailgate) of mine are: SWB 73" (6' 1") LWB 87 3/4" (7' 3 3/4") which is a ~15" difference
brigarpeon Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The LWB bed was advertised as 7' 6". I don't think the info you have is correct 195.5" is longer than the wheelbase. The real difference is 18". 7'6" is 231.648 cm or 2316.48mm
mvusse Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 195.5 is total length, bumper to bumper. Wheel base is listed as 119.9 for 7' bed, 113 for 6' bed. The info is straight out of the owner's manual, and it refers to them as a 6' box and a 7' box.

I was refering the marketing sell points in some of the brochures. Jeep didn't advertise the 7'6" bed length like Dastun w/ "Too Tall" Jones lying in the bed.
