Rokhound
From what I read here: http://www.neow.org/yj_ujoint.html You can do this to the D30 has any one done this. Is there any thing I should no before I do it. I am worried about the nut not setting flat. Any input would be nice Thanks
MiNi Beast
I heard of it being done as well, from what I hear she'll work good but aslong as everything is stright so that the it'll seat right. So I wouldn't see why it would'nt work.
Andy in Pa
You can buy the correct yoke and just change the whole thing. I looked at doing this too, but it didn't look like the nut on the u-bolt would sit nice and flat on the yoke. I went and bought the u-bolt yokes and replaced the one on my D44 and D30 (they are the same yoke). A.
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
The D30 and the D44 share the same yoke. I believe that the D44's found in old Fords have the strap yokes in them and will bolt right upto the Jeep D30 and D44. D30 in an XJ with the strap yokes. CWLONGSHOT
Thats correct, D44 and D30s will interchange. Your best bet is to just purchase a new yoke of UBolt style. Keep the strap as a trail spare. Image Not Found Image Not Found While you at it, buy a set or two of replacement UBolts. They are cheap and if you play in the rocks, you will want to have them on hand. Image Not Found CW

LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
would that kit work for the dana 35 rear end?? The D30 and D44 yokes are the same; the D35 if my memory is a bit different and the yokes will not interchange. I've heard of people drilling out the yokes before and than switching to the straps. I'm just not real fond of that procedure as I think it'll weaken them to much and the amount of metal left just isn't enough.
