maddzz1
Is this a grey kind of clear plastic thing? Yesterday I took part of my dash apart and when I put it back together I noticed The gray thing was now hanging down infront of my brake pedal. It also had a silver bracket attached to it but I couldnt see anywhere the bracket would mount to. If this isnt the EMT then what is it?

fiatslug87
I seem to remember a thread on NAXJA or was it Jeepforum that showed you how to reset the timer. Does anyone have the link or the write-up, I can't find it.
maddzz1
For my year truck they cannot be reset. I'm not sure what year the cut off is. (I have an 89)
88XJSport
For my year truck they cannot be reset. I'm not sure what year the cut off is. (I have an 89) I believe when OBD1 started (91) they can be reset. Anything older than 91 needs to change the unit. Everyone just removes it though. Eagle
The older ones can be reset. The factory didn't design them that way, but innovative (i.e. redneck) engineering has prevailed, and enterprising (cheap) young men figured out how to reset them. The write-ups are out there if you look. Basically, it goes off about every 75,000 miles as a reminder to replace the oxygen sensor. Unplug it and just write down when your O2 sensor is due for replacement.
