a34upw Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I'm sure I won't have any problems taking the old engine and tranny out, but will I have a hard time putting the new engine, Manual tranny + transfercase in, in one shot? The front clip is off. Will there be bolt holes for the new transfercase etc...?
Geonovast Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 The transfercase does not bolt to the body other than the linkages. And yes, putting all three in at the same time IMO is the easiest.
a1awind Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 on this note. is it a possibility to swap in a 318ci and a tourqueflight auto into a manche that is a 2.5 ? reason i ask, my brother in law is swaping his 318 for a 360. The motor is good he just wants a bigger bore to start building on. so we thought, it might be a good swap. it is out of a 78 charger.
a34upw Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 ok thanks, i thought there was a cross-member that bolted to the t-case, i don't remember exactly, its a shame, the poor truck is just sitting in the field w/ a tarp over it for the winter, i wish i could continue working on it 8)
