xjcrazy09 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Well i have a bit of a problem. It was raining and i turned on the windshield wipers to have better visibility. The wipers came on for about 2 minutes and then shut off. I asked around and came to the conclusion that my motor had gone bad. Went to the local JY and picked up a used windshield wiper motor. Just for kicks i pulled the wiring from the old motor and clipped it on the new motor. Still is not working right. Anybody have any suggestions?
xjcrazy09 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 The fuse box says RR Wipe I checked it, it has a 25 amp fuse. And even though it was good I changed it with another one and still no movement.
WahooSteeler Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 did you bench test the JY motor to make sure it's good? just throwing anything out there, sometimes the simplest things are the ones we forget to do.
xjcrazy09 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 No i don't have the tools to check for power coming to the motor. I am planning on doing that soon as I can get it to stop raining and drive to my buddies shop.
Silver88 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Radio Shack sells an inexpensive multimeter. As Karl Malden used to say " Don't leave home without it". 8)
skimore11 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 When mine does this I just put some pressure on the fuse panel with my foot and they come back on. The wiper timed through one of those relays similar to your blinkers. Something down there is loosened by the vibrations.
