Jeep in a Crate

Recommended Posts

I've always wanted one of these. Wild that there are still WWII Jeeps still in a crate! (Edit: I just read the fine print, "These are new reproduction kits, not leftover surplus.") Not cheap though are they? But what I really want to do is this...

That is a heck of a lot cheaper than you could restore one for. It is a bummer that they do not have titles, but if a guy had a really rusty Jeep with a good engine, transmission, and axles, this would be the way to go. I also like the idea of putting a 2.5L in one.

From my understanding I think they are built with the same tooling? From my view if its from the same tooling and manufacturing process I'd consider it a new year model of a Willy's MB, albeit a "reproduction". I love the idea of it arriving in a crate, shame they can't airdrop one :brows:
