Swapping an 87 renix system into a 94

Recommended Posts

So my 87 2 door renix xj got totalled, buckled the firewall and the unibody in multiple spots. I had a 94 2 door sitting so it has now become my new build, the previous owner hacked up the engine harness. I almost had the 87 running perfect so i figured swap everything to the 94, using the renix ecm and engine harness connected to the 94 fuse block at the firewall. Its been an adventure thus far, had to drill some holes and rewire some connectors. First 2 pics are the 87 last 2 are the 94.

I had just gotten off my 7th 12 hour shift and hadnt been sleeping good. Got back into town off the bus, felt tired but nothin bad, jumped in my jeep went to town for a bottle of water at the gas station. At some point fell asleep goin over the freeway overpass 25 mph, next thing I'm waking up to is crashing into a crosswalk pole on the driver side minor damage, then slammed into a metal light post on passenger side which dealt the fatal blow.

So far making the 94 fuse box wiring and the 87 engine harness at the c100 connector match up has been tedious but it finally done, actually to be honest there werent too many wires that had to be switched 🤯, the hardest part was finding pinouts for the c100 connector for both years to compare the wire paths.
