eaglescout526
From the pics of your front end, I’d do a full rebuild. Cut your losses of what the actual “solution” is and post the components that are possible to your issue and never look back. If this was my truck, I’d do a full front end rebuild, replace all that’s rusty, crusty and cracked with new and drive it. If the issue were to persist after, WE would all know, it’s no longer in the front suspension and you’d have peace of mind knowing that your front is practically all new. Hell! Go the extra mile, clean the axle up, paint it, replace the coil spring isolators if that has never been done. Those isolators help cushion the ride in the body and prevent road noise. That was my first thought as well, however, the spirit of Crusier54 and others have been reminding me not to fire the parts cannon. Also, it looks and sounds like a pretty in-depth job. So, I'm back to keeping it simple. I'm not making much progress on that.

The flip side of avoiding the parts cannon, consider that our trucks are all pretty old, and unless they have already had some TLC, the front end parts are pretty beat up. That means virtually all the joints and fittings could benefit from a refresh.

I need to get the truck up higher than just a jack to work without getting . In fact, it's the stupid vertical that really keeps me from tackling these repairs. If anyone else has issues laying under their truck and feeling sick and has a "cure" please chime in!

If anyone else has issues laying under their truck and feeling sick and has a "cure" please chime in! I sometimes suffer from mild vertigo in my left ear, so I know what you are experiencing. Your vertigo issue is probably caused by small crystals that form in the fluid of the inner ear. When you lay down, the crystals move around in the fluid, and contact small hair-like cells inside that part of the inner ear, and it triggers your brain to think you are imbalanced. An ENT doctor might be able to find ways to eliminate those crystals….
