Was gonna make my own spacers, but my stock isolators were destroyed. The Jeep dealership said the company that bought out Jeep decided the isolators were obsolete and stopped making them. So...

I was going to buy spacers (hoping they have built in isolators), but the guy at the supension shop told me $160! This is only for front 2" spacers, no shocks or rear lift.

Is $160 normal? If it is, I'll make my own. I talked to the suspension guy and he gave me some suggestions on making isolators for them.

Where would I be able to find them for an MJ? The guy at the suspension shop told me that Xj coils are slightly more narrow, so I wasn't sure that the spacers'd work.

Coils are exactly the same...

But hey, a couple cutting board from welk-mart and way the heck too much time can make some nice spacers. Or there's always the junkyard.

Why does it seem all the Jeep lift kits are XJ specific?

Before, I was gonna use 4"ish diameter UHMW plastic rod, which is what alot of spacers are made out of, and then use a 2-1/2" hole saw to fit it around the post, but I've got no isolators. This Jeep's letting me down...

Just go grab isolators off an XJ, they're the same, trust me. Then make spacers if you really have too much time. Or shop around online. Or get a bunch of stock isolators and stack them.

Didn't mean to offend, sorry about that.

Thank you for all the information. Not sure what the lift shop was thinking. They were just mistaken, I suppose.

The only thing different between the XJ and the MJ is the rear suspension. EVERYTHING up front is the same from the tranny crossmember forward.

I would never go back to that susp[ension shop again if I was you.

I brought in a coil to a different shop. They matched it up to a set of 1-3/4" spacers for a TJ. Fit perfect, said to bring em back if there were any problems. $33 for polys. Glad you guys let me know.

I've gone to the overpriced shop a few times to dig through their dumpster and bounce some custom ideas off of em for my Toy. Never bought anything there. The guy's super nice, but...

Thanks again for the help.
