Drahcir495
I need to know how to measure a shock so that I can replace it with the correct size. The thing is it a 5.5” lift but instead of the stud post on the front shocks, I have the ?JKS ? Adapter that replaces this with the standard shock setup. I can’t find my receipt for the ones on there that I’m sure has the length on it. Going with the Bilstiens (spelling?) if that matters.
89 MJ
I believe it should be measure the distance between mounts at ride height, at full droop, and then at full compression.

ghetdjc320
Normally I measure full compression and static ride height. That dimension should be approx 60% of your shock travel. Make sure your bump stops bottom out before you shock does and that will be your collapsed length.
Drahcir495
Called everywhere to try to figure out what sized shocks are needed for my lift - even Bilstien. They sent me to Shock surplus to try to figure out the correct size shocks. They needed the fully extended and collapsed measurements to find the correct ones. I ended up having to remove one front and rear shock to get the measurements. These are on the way -> * 26” full extension and 16” collapsed, both center of eye to eye. I will have to check that with my floor jack when I get the truck back home.
