Complete interior swap

I was wondering if it would be possible to change the interior, namely the full dash and door panels, to be more like a YJ. I’d like to make my Comanche feel more like a “Jeep” even considering putting a roll cage in the cabin. Has anyone done anything like this before?

interior cages have been done.  heck, you might be able to buy a kit these days.  

 

dash swaps are a bit trickier.  you might be blazing a new trail with that one.

Measure out the dash width from a YJ and see what fits. Interestingly enough, a TJ dash may actually be a closer match as well. I’d go the opposite direction, I’d look at installing a gladiator dash. For an “old jeep” kind of look though, you could just fabricate a flat steel dash

I think that’s actually a great idea, I know some guys do metal TJ dash fabrications. When you say gladiator do you mean the old one or the new one?

For my I’d go with a new one. Completely different look of course. When I had my YJ I was planning to fabricate a sheet metal dash. It’s not too terribly complicated
