JeepcoMJ
I can't find black seat belts for a comanche, and the select few leads there are are too far and no one has gotten back to me. so, since I'm doing the headliner this week, I was thinking of getting some "tye-dye" in black, and putting the seat belts in black dye there for a day or two. do you guys think that would work? remember, I've also had to paint everything on my interior black except the glovebox area, knee board, kick panels, center console, female belt ends, and seats
Hawk
I'm no expert, but I think black dye would bleed into your clothes if they got even the slightest bit of moisture on them. At least wait until after the holiday to do this. It's likely I can come up with something, I'll post up in the next day or so.
JeepcoMJ
thanks, and let me know. also if you're at it anyways, you'd probably find black rear and lower trim, which I need too (mine's dyed with vinyl dye) I'm gonna do it either way because once I find original black seat belts, and rear trim, I'll have a complete second black interior that's done with vinyl dye (I have 2 OEM spare black bucket seats and center console right now) and that would go in another project I've got going soon. cromanyak
I was considering using fabric paint on mine. I have one that's tan and one that's grey, and I'd like them both to be blue. I haven't had a chance to try it yet though. Has anyone else? Chris

jtdesigns
Did you call any upholstery shops? Better yet I bet a shoe repair shop could sew some seat belts for you. I'm sure you can buy the seatbelt webbing easy too.
JeepcoMJ
I'm not looking forward to disassembly of the recoil part of the belts...was gonna just drop the belt in the dye after pulling it all the way out (it won't be in the truck, but I mean pulling it out of the recoil) and clamping it so it won't go back in. colton, if you can get them real cheap we can see if I can make them work. I'm not sure. i DO know that the recoil isn't the same, and they're longer. so I'd have to do some swapping.
Kenosha Warrior
but front XJ belts would work? Ill call the yard sometime in a couple days. There's an 86 XJ in there with black interior. Alll black, but with black'n'white specked upholstery. 2.5L EFI with an auto tranny. 4.10 gears should be there, righty?

Hawk
The extra belts I have are dark gray (darkest they put in any late models, almost black but not quite) out of a 99xj. If you want them, you can have them for $20 plus shipping. I know that the receiving end is mounted to the seat, I haven't had a chance to look at how that comes off yet, but I will today or tomorrow. (It's busy around here right now.)
