Behind the seat accessories locations(bottle jack, etc)

Recommended Posts

Can anybody explain or post a pic of where each of these go behind the seat? I’m not even sure if the tire irons have a dedicated location or not, this is just everything that came with the parts truck I gutted this interior from925A746E-8F3E-427F-AE86-234F64E44103.jpeg.a92f49748b7d89b8c09f9855fb646d6a.jpegBFA6CAE0-3806-4DBF-AD78-25928E0ED91B.jpeg.30c6e7ecbe48ad683b1ac13c7ff09ed5.jpeg

The cross iron is a spare someone had. The tire iron and the handle get strapped in the same spot and the handle portion of the handle gets clipped to a metal piece that sticks out. I found that metal clip in a spot y’all would never guess.

Here's how mine looks.  Second pic shows the clip on the metal bracket (on the back cab wall) that EagleScout mentioned.

3rd pic I "borrowed" off here, I think.  I listed it as an 86, which has an extra part for lowering the spare tire.

Jack instruction sticker.

Jack parts from the parts manual.

Close up of the clip.

Ohhh ok that all makes more sense ty. I think instead of being a clip in the middle of the board, mine is a loop basically to slide the handle thru.

The clip goes on the metal bracket circled in red.

In that case I'm missing the clip then lol. Welp I'm never finding one ever again, guess I'll try to make one

There are various work arounds.  One would be to just zip tie the handle to the bracket, knowing you would have to cut it if you ever used the jack handle.

I did say those very clips can be found in XJs under the top panel by the hatch on the roof holding the washer hose. Course be my luck that’s an 84 only thing.

Ohh I was confused as to what you were talking about

Ok so developing, this clip can be found in SJ's as wiring body clips, YJ's as the same as SJ's, XJ's under the rear upper hatch panel on the headliner(not in catalog though) and the Eagle Premier/Dodge Monaco for the window regulators.

Great info, except I'm a little sick over how many XJs I've looked at in junkyards and never knew that clip was there.

You have no idea how I felt when I saw the clip just clipped in place holding the washer hose knowing there’s like 2 or 3 under that panel. Granted this could be an 84 only thing but I’ve never looked at any others.

Yes, we've talked before about how them 84-85s are their own animals. I will definitely be taking a look though.

The one my clip just came off of was an 87 Laredo I believe. Regardless, it was definitely not 84 or 85. Ofcourse they might change for some reason in 91, but it's probably safe to say 84-90 has them.
