I’m sure it’s been asked multiple times on here, but can you do the 97+ swap on the Comanche’s without changing out the fenders?

yes.  the corners won't quite line up, but you can sand down the front facia and fill it with bondo to make it right like in this pic:

That's pretty much it. Technically late model has 2 bulbs for the turn signals but I run only 1 and it's perfectly fine. To properly do the swap (minus fenders) I believe you also need to remove/move the studs but I left mine and only have it secured by the top 4 nuts.

That seems very expensive.

 

FWIW I sourced my header from a JY and bought all of the pieces from Rock Auto except the Grille. I bought that from a seller on Walmart. Paid under $200.
