yungupgrade
I've come to terms that i'll be buying a rust free bed, and I have a new set of rockers ready to go. Pic related is the extent of rust on my passenger door. There is a hole towards the back of the door near the bottom left corner. I do have a friend who owns a welder but I have no welding skills. I see some prices of doors range from 50-100 but I was wondering if welding is cheaper (assuming I could do it right), and how would I make sure that the metal I'd put in follows the slight curves of the door? 89 MJ
I would just get a whole new door (84-96) and be done with it. I think that door is going to be much worse once you open it up.

The way I look at it, your time is worth something too. You’re going to have time in making the patch, trimming it to size, welding it in, and grinding it smooth before you can start bodywork. Plus, you should also sandblast it and coat it once you do get it opened up because there is going to be more rust in there. And when you blast the bottom of the door, it doesn’t look like much will be left.

Some wheel arch work, floors, and part of one rocker. The other rocker and one cab corner was replaced due to damage.
