motownXJdad Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 This is a really interesting and enlightening video series (4 vids) i learned the real reason why 4.0s have problems with cylinders 4,5,&6 and headgaskets, and why running them a little cooler may help, and definately a high flowing water pump

FrankTheDog Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 4.0 HO’s couldn’t have been to bad. I had 4 with over 300k on them and a fourth with 450k. Non of them ever had the oil pan or valve cover off and only things replaced on them were water pumps, alternators and starters. The 450k one was still running and driving when l scrapped it because it was so rotten. I still wish I kept the drivetrain to put in something else.
