dracon79 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I went to start my 88 comanche the other day and it would crank but would not start. I listened for the fuel pump which was making this like fizzle noise. It use to make a loud whirr noise. So I jumpered the ballast resistor and it makes a half fizzle noise and half whirr noise and for longer then before I jumpered it. I just replaced the pump a month or two ago with the carter/bosch off of partsamerica. :???:
dracon79 Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 Well possibly maybe the fuel pump relay. I can get it to start by double priming it. I wonder if it could be the fuel pressure regulator but if the pump is making a weaker weird noise I would think it would be the pump. Really strange but once I get it started it runs when its cold if I hit the gas it wants to stall but once it warms up that goes away so I don't know.
Pete M Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Double priming? I'm not familiar with this term. :hmm:
