Jeepjunker Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 So i bought a comanche always wanted one . The previous owner told me it ran but would die . It’s been a head scratcher . It starts and stalls after about 5 seconds . Things I’ve tried - bypassed fuel ballast resistor . - cleaned ground behind drivers taillight -jumpered fuel pump relay I get 40 psi at the rail with it jumped . But with starting fluid i can keep it running . It stalls like normal even with the pump jumped . I’m at a loss here anyone ?
Pete M Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 what's the flow rate coming out of the pump? pressure is one thing, but if the system can't maintain enough flow, it'll die. a clogged fuel filter, clogged sock, or a dying pump could do this.
Jeepjunker Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 How would i go about checking flow rate ?
Pete M Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 I would do it at the fuel filter. also, if you don't know how of the filter is, now's the time to change it. in fact, I'd probably do that first.
