Hust01
Previous owner had cut into panel and installed components then covered them with screen door material. At some point 3 way speakers were installed and the component tweeter was left in the hole. After seeing some pictures of OEM panels I decided the carpet trick was the option. I only wanted to use carped in the panel lines but the old screen was attached with staples so I needed to cover staple holes. Ends at the top look kinda out of place but considering what I had to work with I think the came out pretty good. Speakers mounted behind carpet. DirtyComanche
How did you stretch it and attach it? Looks like a good way to save otherwise useless door cards.
Hust01
Purchased the carpet at Oreillys and attached it with 3M spray adhesive. About 25 bucks in the project. Quote Quote
Hust01
Still have not decided if I like the hidden speaker look or if I should cut the carpet and mount the grilles. Any opinions?
rokinn
I like the look of the exposed speaker covers myself. Plus your sound from the speaker will be a lot clearer.
Hust01
That was the way I was leaning. Reason I hid them was because previous owner butchered the panels and the speakers aren't even in both doors. One sets up about an inch higher and to he left.
