m2bandit Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I've been hunting for a clock but haven't had any luck finding one not made in China. I'd settle for a different country, just not one that openly says it wants to capture and control our entire supply chain. Just looking for a small simple clock that clicks into place.
Dzimm Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I'm guessing you are attempting the same rabbit hole I did. That's about the only option I could find as well and believe me their quality is pretty terrible, not something I'd put in a product.

CMMagnussen Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 This is what I am putting in the MJ where the factory clock should be. https://www.intellitronix.com/product-page/digital-clock-in-black-bezel-1 you don't happen to make an insert with a single round instead of the 4 switches do you?

I have a clock panel with 1 gauge hole and 2 switches on my todo list. Should be a week out.

I messaged them and got a reply saying their gauges are 2 1/16" /W bezel and hole size is 1 15/16. I like their product but if I make a gauge panel that's not the standard 2 1/16 it will create complications. I'm hoping the person replying was wrong. the email came back from "accounting". Autometer has analog clocks in 2 1/16.
CMMagnussen Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 I will check, I have a custom dash from Dan Dillner in the YJ that uses standard holes and the intellitronix fit perfect. I will dig out the comanche set and confirm. Plan is combination speedometer and tach/oil/volt/temp/fuel where the cluster is, boost and AF in the a-pillar. clock in the side panel and I have the combo gauge (gear indicator, turn signal, etc) that I want to put where the current 4wd light is.

I got this message this morning. .
CMMagnussen Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Bad policy telling the world (erroneously) that you sell a non standard gauge, might as well say "Buy Autometer"

Which is fine for me.
m2bandit Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 Not the final but I think I have about .02 " of extra space to play with between switch , gauge bezel and dash bezel.
CMMagnussen Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Looks good any plans for one without the switches? I will be purchasing your two lower panels which give me 4 slots and then the phone holder. Can't really use any more switches. Then I just need to figure out how to do the single round on the left side and the main cluster.

CMMagnussen Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Just a heads up, if you use the intellitronix clock it is a dollar cheaper on eBay right now with free shipping. My cart on the website showed 19.00 in shipping charges. There may be a free shipping cutoff somewhere but I think I have everything else for this project.
m2bandit Posted January 23, 2022 Author Posted January 23, 2022 1 hour ago, CMMagnussen said: Actually placement on yours looks good. I was thinking of doing it offset but maybe a half inch lower than the one with rockers. I think offset will make it look more natural but too much and it leaves a lot of blank space. I can make one exactly like that for you if you want if you don't like the half inch lower.
CMMagnussen Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 the 1/2 should work might make things easier when I try to match the other side too

CMMagnussen Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 I will stick with the gauge only version it will be easier for me to match the other side. I will have to show that combo setup to my brother, might be something for his XJ

About a 1/4" is covered up by trim on all sides except the bottom which has a good half inch+ covered. That puts the top of the gauge just under 1/2" from the trim above it.
