Heater issue

My 86, 2wd, 4cyl, 4 speed only blows heat out the defrost. I can't find any vacuum leaks. put a new vacuum ball on it and no improvement. What else do I look at?

I don't think this will fix it but when you slide the vent rod wiggle it up and down when it's on the setting you want. I've done that to mine before to get it to work.

I don't think that it will fix it either but I will try it.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. There's a rat's nest of small vacuum tubes under the dashboard -- I think you're going to have to go hunting until you find the one that's causing the problem.

That's what I figured. I'll have to make time to tear into it

Thanks Cruiser. I'm going to look into it today. I can't find any issues under the hood, thought it was the vacuum ball but it's not. Goona double check under the hood and then start looking under the dash.
