Clueless
Hello I have a 1987 Comanche, 4wd, short bed Renix 4.0 (ba-10 but we won't talk about that ax-15 coming). My truck did not come with AC or the tow package (I know this because I happen to have the original factory window sticker will attach below). I have no overheating issues currently but am moving to Yuma AZ for work and want to add a electric fan just to make myself feel better. I was looking at Dorman 620-001 (linked below). Am I able to plug this fan directly into the factory wiring harness plug which is located on the driver side fender next to the airbox, or do I need some sort of fan controller in addition to the fan? I am not the biggest fan of electrical work (yes I know renix jeep has all sorts of electrical problems so help me God I'm squashing them one at a time) so I am looking for the simplest solution as possible. tugboat95
Check these guys out. You will need something like this.https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store/p32/Electric_Fan%2FAccessory_Relay_Harness.html#/I'm not sure how your particular model is wired. You will need a relay. This harness is easy to install, they even have a video. The down side may be the switch. You have have to turn it on or off. It is not automatic. Switch comes with it.All that being said, I can't tell the difference with it on or off. That's in the Southeast. Not quite Arizona but 95+ is normal. Some are of the opinion if it comes on for an overheating situation, it's too late. The set point to come on is 218.89 ComancheEliminator2wd4.0L5 speed PukeGoatFactory Original

omega_rugal
get a couple of efans out of a taurus and wire them thorugh a relay and a switch, i don't know what seaon is yuma arizona right now but i have heard is hot in summer, if so you can take out the thermostat for now, and go with a mix of 50/50 or 30/70 coolant. better save for some funtional hood vents so hot air gets flushed out of the engine bay as you move...
