1991 MJ 4.0L HO SWB 2WD AX-15

219K Miles, Pioneer Trim

 

Bought from a small dealership in Dripping Springs, TX in 2016. I'm trying to swap it over to chrome trim. 
Has a Dana 44 in the rear. Previous owner solved most problems in the laziest ways possible. Still runs somehow. Just burns through way too much fuel in the city. I just recently started repairing it. 

Added cruise control, 703 injectors, Renix fuel sending unit for inverse fuel gauge (lol). Mostly stock. Just added A/C to fight that humid Texas heat. Dual diaphragm BB from a 95 XJ. Currently trying to fix the rusted floorboards and repaint the thing. Rod knock following that.

 

Interesting note: The non-flex mirrors are stock from a 96 XJ. They have the Chrysler logo and build date on the inside of the mirror. Tripped me out since I haven't seen anyone mention them to exist.

 

Note: Interior is currently out of cab since floorboards need to get fixed.

yeah, I was so used to the breakaway mirrors that I got super confused when I saw the first pair of non-breakaway.    and I think that was just a couple years ago too.

I really prefer the disassembly for mirror replacement or maintenance. I saw a chrome pair of regular ones at the junkyard and I've been contemplating on whether or not it's worth snagging them.
