sinkrun Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 (2003 WJ)I want to do a small budget lift 2 inch. I am reading allot of info that says you can and can not lift A Quadra drive Quardtac II WJ. Any one have any input. I know all reasons some say you can and why.
Smokeyyank Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 They say you can't because of the rzeppa drive shaft on older models, but you should be fine on a 03. I have a 04 with no issues.
gogmorgo Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 It’s a CV driveshaft. Yes, sure, it is specifically a Rzeppa-style CV joint, but just call it a CV. And yes, the concern is the operating angle of the CV joints on the driveshaft, but 2” isn’t a huge change, so isn’t that big a concern. The new position of the CV joint is going to change the wear patterns in it, which if it’s already worn out could accelerate failure, but the risk is pretty minimal, especially if you’re already using most of your suspension travel without issue.
