86 comanche Cherokee to comanche swap?

iv'e got a 4 cyl 86 jeep comanche and I'm wondering if a Cherokee engine will bolt in or do i need new mounts? would like to upgrade to 6 cyl. thanks if you could help.:)

I think you’ll need new mounts and depending on the time when your 86 was made, the rear firewall may need to be modified. I’m not sure about how the transmissions bolt up or which transmissions came with a 2.5 in 86

AX4/AX5 and the Chrysler A900 series.
