A-man930
RE advertises "a little over an inch" on an XJ... http://www.rubiconexpress.com/Products.aspx?Vid=0B25024044192&Pn=1931 TNT: http://www.tntcustoms.com/webv5/xjshackles.asp advertised 1.5" Which ones??? These WILL work on my stock springs correct? I want aprox an inch of lift (going with .75" spacers in front)
feerocknok
XJ shackles would normally drop an MJ half of an inch, so a 1-1/2" lift shackle should theoretically lift it 1". Do you need the boomerang? If you don't, I recommend these: http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/mcg33037-d4.html for a 1" or 2" lift depending on the setting you choose. There is no need for a boomerang schakle on a MJ. I took mine off of my XJ. I did redrill my mounting hole in the frame mount to increase the shackle angle for a better ride and increased droop. The TNT shackles are well built and HD. Here's a pic. Image Not Found And no I'm not affilated with them I've been TNT on most Jeep boards since 2000. I was directed to them after a discussion on Jeepforum... and did you mean to give a link to FS Chevy drop shackles :???: Again, I want to make sure that these are for use with the stock springs (well, they're aal, but whatever)
TNT
You don't need boomerang shackles. XJ's need them becausse replacement lift springs are longer and the shackle will hit the mount if boomerang shackles aren't used. The link to the drop shacles is right. They use the same width springs and mounts but Chevy shackles mount are below the spring instead of above it. Get the Chevy drop shackles for the price they are a great deal. feerocknok
Yeah, Chevies have the suspension set up like this: so a shackle that lowers them is longer than stock. The dimensions are the same as our mounts and leaf widths, and factory Chevy shackles are the same length, so a Chevy drop shackle is a Comanche lift shackle. A-man930
alright, so a I'll do that and see where that puts the lift... I may have more questions later, but thanks!
pingpong
Be advised that doig a shacklelift can and will rotate your pinion angle, and move yout tire forward in the wheel well which can cause rubbing issues if you were close beforehand

TNT
How much are we talking? Since you only run 31's clearance won't be an issue and I would guess about a 2-3 degree shim might be needed.
feerocknok
I've got 2.25" lift shackle. My 31s clear fine and my driveline angle hasn't been an issue. 33s would clear, I do believe (I'm in the hunt for them now). That being said, do not do a shackle lift bigger than 2". It's stupid and starts to cause problems.
pingpong
MOre then likely you will be fine.. it is just a heads up if you get vibes... you might want to change your u-joints

Should vibes happen to you, you'll need to put a shim between the leaf packs and axle (leaf perch). It would angle the pinion to the same angle as stock.
