Tyler Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Hello! Just finishing up mounting my add-a-leaf, and as I’m torquing the bottom nut for the shock, the old screw busted. I was hoping to get the name of this bracket that holds the leaf springs since I’m having a hard time finding one to replace it. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for good leaf springs to eventually swap out (currently have a 3 inch lift), that would be great as well. Thank you.
Pete M Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 lower shock mount. it's specific to MJs, is mirrored left to right (meaning if you snapped a drivers side, you need a drivers side), and only available used. another option is to slice off the offending shock bolt and just weld a new bolt in its place.
rylee144 Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 shock mount Ebay has a set, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Comanche-MJ-1991-Rear-Leaf-Spring-Plate-Factory-OEM/114616653289?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3D2c00423a5a7b40a8919f3373f5442590%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D5%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D114390700399%26itm%3D114616653289%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic%26brand%3DJeep&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1 Also, you could weld on a new peg for the shock. I bet you could get a set from a junkyard for $20 bucks or so too. Facebook Market Place has a lot of Comanche part outs so you can prolly get a set there too. Hope that helps and that is what your talking about 25 minutes ago, Tyler said: Hello! Eagle Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Some models of Monroe shocks used to come with mounting bolts/studs that would be perfect to replace a busted factory mount. I don't know if Monroe sells them separately.
