yxmj
On my Dana Diffs I have tags (metal) that will tell me the gear ratio and if it is posi or open...... same on the Ford 8.8's I have. Does anyone have an answer to tell me how to identify a 8.25 POSI (TRAC LOCK) by just the tags or stickers alone?
Torq_Shep
Good luck. I have 2 of them and the only thing I can do is check gear ratios by spinning the wheels and checking the input shaft.

derf
It may be stamped on the axle housing. AMC did that with the AMC20. There's a thread on tags here: I never rely on axle tags. I've had enough axles open to know that what's on the tag isn't always what's in the axle. Especially with Jeeps. Always crack the cover and double check for yourself. strictlyxjs
If its in the jeep you can check the glovebox for the silver posi sticker. Should be a silver warning label with maroon letters.
