Joe Jeep
Well, yesterday I went to use the wipers to clear the leaves from the truck and the wipers made a horrible sound and moved very slowly. It was rather startling in morning. Well, it happened again this morning too. So, it appears I have another MJ project for this weekend. I haven't looked under the hood yet, but anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks
Pete M
I haven't had that exact problem yet, but I can tell ya that the wiper stuff isn't under the hood, but inside the cowling area between the hood and the windshield. Could be that the motor has gone bad.
feerocknok
I can't remember how the MJ wiper arms connect, but if it's like the design in this picture, your screws may just be a little loose, or where the linkage connects to the motor could be loose:
Oizarod115
my wipers make terrible noise if i do them and the windshield is dry.. .they get stuck in one spot but when its rainin they work fine.
JOMJ87
GOOD luck and i say that because it is tight in there. Pop off the cowl and theres everything crammed in a small area. I just looked mine over but i had to undo the conection to do some wire harness migration and it wasnt a area my hand like to fit into. HOrnbrod
Could be your wiper arm assembly bushings are shot. I did the below, worked great: http://tinyurl.com/27l93v
