General spring military wrap question

Recommended Posts

I have my springs and new ford f150 shackles. Problem is the ford shackles are a bit small fot the wrap. Do you guys think it would be on to notch the shackles for clearance? I have marked a shackle with a rough idea of what needs notched.

Note: I would remove all the material inside the silver line. This is just a rough estimate. Haven't really measured yet. 417c30e0f7602914bf5ef998787a5e22.jpga1f8ded59f5f2db9b17e356ac15bbf77.jpg

I'm fairly certain the military wrap end goes toward the front. That's how I mounted mine anyways... I imagine the front (potentially) turning into a pole vault when it breaks, therefore more logical to reinforce that end than the rear.

HAHAHAHA  Don't try to figure out how you truck goes together after too many Peach Crown Sweet teas.....

I looked at this post this morning and called my self a bunch of names.  I know which way they mount, but apparently I didn't last night. lmao

Don't worry there is no harm done.  I knew I was in no state to wrench on the truck.  Glad I didn't decide to put them on last night.

The Springs were $440ish for the pair and the shackles were $32/ea. on amazon.  I also bought new ubolts through General Spring.
