well, it certainly would freak me out, because that's more myth these days than anything else.  I hate to burst your bubble, but that "kit" was put together by a company (omix ida?).  very cool none the less.

quick summary, very few Jeeps were ever shipped this way because it was expensive and time consuming.  and they were never offered to civilians this way.
