Comanche interior swaps/pieces

Hey y’all. My comanche needs some parts. Like Lots of parts haha. But one but thing I am trying to do is get the interior lookin nice. I have the b post panels, the kick panels, the side skirt interior panels, and that’s it. (Which leaves me needing the headliner, a post panels, and the back panels behind the seats. I was wondering what people have done to either custom make pieces for the interior, swaps for the interior, or just good places to go to get pieces like that.

Interior panels... local junkyard, scan the want ads here. You can find some interior paint to color match in case you aren’t able to locate a color specific piece. As far as headliner... I highly recommend SMS Headliners here( located in vendor section) Members also  have created their own headliners here with material from a fabric store. The rear piece under the window.... want ads here. You’re  gonna learn pretty quick there’s a lot of ‘unicorn’ parts on these MJs! Good luck in your search!

for my rear wall I bolted up a piece of 3/4" plywood and covered it in speakerbox carpet.  I wanted a more useful wall to which I could screw brackets (fire extinguisher for example).   that was 15 years ago though, and the original part is long gone.

be very careful with A-pillar plastic, as they can be super fragile

For my rear panel, I used a piece of "masonite" hardboard (I had the old piece as a template, but you can figure out the size without the old one if you use cardboard to mock it up.)  I covered the masonite with black headliner material.   Carpet is a bit more durable, but either one will work. 

 

For the headliner, I had previously done the headliner in my 2000 XJ, so I knew how to do it.   I bought OEM color headliner off of eBay, and some 3M headliner adhesive.  Then I scraped/brushed all the old headliner off the foam board backer they use to support the fabric.   Once it was clean,  spray the adhesive and roll out the headliner material.  Then roll it over the edges and attach again with adhesive.  Trim as needed.   Just be REAL careful not to get adhesive on your hands while doing this, as it transfers dirt to light colored headliner material instantly.
