Gauges question

Hey fellas! So its about time to guve my interior some love so I'm planning on a 97+ dash swap, and then I came up with this idea for a new cluster setup.

Do you need a new fuel sending unit to run that gauge or will stock sender work with that fuel gauge somehow?

I was thinking sticking with the same one.

I mean a saw a post on Fb of a guy running something very similar to it.

He said everything was stock that you just need to "tap" into the sensor.

Makes me wonder tbh
