Before I start breaking the vents coming out of the dash, can they be popped out easy with out removing the entire dash? The vents on my MJ are getting loose and I would like to figure a way to tighten them up. If you have suggestions or knowledge of what to do I am listening. Thanks Paul
fiatslug87 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 From what I remember, I put a flathead screwdriver between the vent and dash at the top, pressed down and out. There is a piece that can fall into the vent so be careful.
SVPete Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Since I have a dash out on a Cherokee....yes there are tabs on the top and bottom that you can push towards the vent to disconnect from the housing. I use a dental pick and a thin flat "spatula" that I got a thrift tore for 10 cents. They are loose because the felt strips attached to the inside of the vent have fallen off. The square one on the passenger side uses two felt tabs glued to the diffuser.
