Blenny
I built a pretty capable XJ starting around 10 years ago. Brought it to the beach when the floor and "Frame" rusted away, then add a minor flop it was time to pull all the good stuff and scrap it. Been looking for another 2 door XJ or MJ. Came across a 91 2wd automatic. Wasn't running right and no title, so I got it for $400. Changed out the MAP sensor and it ran just fine. Here in Texas it isn't too hard to get a bonded title, so I am in business. Absolutely no rust so that is a big win. Decided to repaint it. Wanted a clean functional paint job, used some tractor pain and it looks good from far, but far from good. Eventually going to do a 4x4 swap, but not in any huge hurry. Hopefully get it inspected and on the street in the next 2 weeks. Unless my other projects take up all my time.

Blenny
The Gremlin is version B of our road race car. We raced A in 24 hours of lemons and Lucky Dog next season. Version A was built and improved over 5 years. Runs an AMC 232 (the 4.0s grandpa). Stock suspension geometry and mounting points. Version A had a catastrophic accident last November. We pulled all the good parts off it and scrapped the body. The new Red White and Blur one just showed up in my garage this week. The guy who was driving when A hit a wall (mostly not his fault) is a fabricator out in California. He sourced a new body, built the cage, and did the body work and paint. Now it’s at my house to install all the suspension, driveline, wiring, ect... B before body and paint. And the stack of parts for both projects Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blenny
Followed me home today. Driveline donor for the Comanche, engine will be a stroker for the Gremlin.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pete M
are you going full swap with the 96 electronics?
Blenny
Not planning on it, will probably keep the engine harness if I decide to go EFI instead of carbureted on the Gremlin.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KoopaKid
I also live in South Texas, in the RGV specifically. I have an 88 Comanche Laredo...and my first car was a 78 AMC Gremlin. That said, you have excellent taste. I’m looking at doing a major overhaul on my Comanche very soon. Best of luck with yours!
